We visited after they were closed for a bit. The hours have changed; be sure to check the website before visiting for the latest info.
The museum covered a lot of information in a small space, from the early years of electronics to current day/space satellites.
Topics ranged from home/personal items to military. The information was well done, but some of it was pretty technical and over my head. There were many hands-on items available to make it interactive.
Worth a stop when you’re in the area. We spent a little over an hour; you could probably spend a half-day if you got into more of the details.

I've been here several times to see some of the products that I used when I was younger. Great location, with adequate parking.

This museum houses mostly military electronics, e.g. radars and antennas, electronic countermeasures, jamming devices, missiles, signal processing, communications, air defense, antennas, etc., and even includes the original microwave oven, based on early radar magnetron tubes. Being an Air Force veteran who did ground-to-air radio equipment maintenance back in the 70's, I am a bit biased and thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits. The museum walks you through the history of electronics chronologically, There are interesting interactive devices for both kids and adults. If you take the time to read the posters in the exhibits, you'll get answers to a lot of questions that you never knew you had. You may even come away with a deep appreciation for the genius's of electronic design and how it has been keeping our country safe in so many ways.

This is not everyone's cup of tea, for sure. I suspect that most of the younger generations probably won't find it interesting, especially if they spend most of their time immersed in cell phones. But true tech nerds of any age will enjoy it. The museum will highly appeal to past and present military techs engaged in the electronics of warfare and communications. If you're in the Baltimore area, this is in an industrial park very close to the BWI airport..

Take a walk through Electronic Warfare history by visiting the National Electronics Museum. I was equipment that I operated back in the 70s and 80s and did it ever bring back memories. I started telling stories related to using this equipment to my co-workers and had them either laughing or completely puzzled because they had no basis of understanding.

As seen in the Atlas Obscura, this place is truly unique.
It is a modest museum, packed with a variety of electronics, communication devices, satellites, radars, and military weaponry from various time periods.
There are several large rooms filled with the artefacts; several artefacts are hands-on or button operated.
Outside, there is a small walking area in which visitors can view several pieces of military equipment and satellite dishes, set up as monuments to an era past.

This museum has so much packed into it; you'll need a good couple of hours to really enjoy everything!

There is a bit of something for everyone of all ages. There are interactive exhibits for those younger, or young at heart; exhibits displaying every day objects from phones to TVs, medical equipment such as MRI, and even historical memorabilia from the World Wars. My favorite was the history and display of Amateur Radio, or Ham Radio. The whole set up they had was very detailed and interesting.

A great place to stop by if you're in the area, or just need something to do. Great staff, a little souvenir shop, and plenty of interesting exhibits. Great hands-on displays for the kids, or "the kid in you". A lot of information and history; it's possible to spend a few hours in this place. FYI, the entrance/parking does not face W. Nursery Rd., but the side road (Elm) just south of the Marriott, before the red light. The entry fee is really cheap; I didn't even bother with my discount . DO stop by if you have a couple of hours or so to burn while waiting on a flight, or just out of curiosity.

Visiting the "National Electronics Museum" has been on our "to-do" list for quite some time when in the Baltimore area. Recently, on a trip to Annapolis, we made it our business to finally visit this museum. The museum is a perfect place to spend some time, especially if you have a background in electronics...even better, if your interest is predominately in defense electronics. There are some great "hands-on" exhibits, and even those not well versed in the area of electronics, can leave the museum having learned something that they did not know before they went in.
Definitely worthwhile to give this museum a visit!!

I am not really a geek when it comes to this type of stuff but after touring this museum one certainly comes away with more knowledge of this field. A lot of static displays and numerous interact ones to get involved. It is a self directed tour that one can do at your own pace. Complex ideas are explained in such a way that even school age children can learn from adults that attend with them. Admission price is reasonable and has some gift items for purchase as well. Educational room is available for hands demonstrations when booked ahead of time. Overall a delightful experience.
