At Summer hot day, I took my grand son to outdoor fountain with others many children enjoy the water and played under the fountain sprout. Also all children are happy and laughing with joy.

There are restaurants, movie house, shops, library, etc, located here. I liked most the huge blue Christmas tree and the small Ice Rink situated at the center of this Square.
Near by are some small local museums, the Red Brick Courthouse, Saint Mary's Catholic Church, Rockville B & O Railroad Station, Veterans Park, etc. These attractions are FREE and are all listed in Tripadvisor. Please refer to my related reviews.
Tip: Take the Metro Red line and exit at the Rockville Station. Walk to the Rockville attractions located here and near by.
There are NO FREE parking here. Both the Garages and Metered Off Street Parking require payments. Parking becomes FREE when you request the restaurants, stores, shops where you do your business to validate your parking tickets.

You have to give the good folks at city hall full marks for effort. They really keep this area clean and welcoming. There are quite a range of dining options within a block or so. Parking nearby is easy to find and free if you get your ticket validated by any of the businesses nearby or even the library if you are not buying anything.The library is right on the square and is a very nice one. They often have some live performance and in winter months host a skating rink. So why haven't I given it 5 stars? Sadly, there are often a couple of not very friendly looking individuals around so that while I take my children there I feel like I need to keep a little more alert than is compatible with being relaxed.

Rockville Town Square is conveniently located by the Rockville redline metro and right off of Rockville Pike. The city hosts many different fun activities throughout the year at the Town Square. There is a permanent stage in the center with restaurants surrounding it. During the summer months they have salsa Thursday nights and live music on Friday. It's great for the family, a date night or hanging with friends. Pack a picnic, grab some take out, or buy food from one of the vendor tents. They also sell beer and wine. Bring your own chairs or blanket and hang. During the winter season they have a ice skating rink in the center of the square which is also nice. They do lighting of the Christmas tree, Oktoberfest and Home town holidays (which I heard is now moving to Montgomery College) and other events. Some people complain about having to pay for parking, but if you go to any of the shops or restaurants your first two hours is validated for free. After that it's roughly $2, which again is very reasonable to me. Only complaints I have is they use to do family movie night in the summer on Wednesday which was awesome, but people who live in the condos/apartments in the square complained about the noise since the movie didn't start until it was dark and in the summer months that isn't until around 8. Also, I'd like better food options, but it's been an ongoing battle with the property owner and tenants because the rents are way too high to have good mom and pop places.

In addition to great shopping and a wide variety of restaurants, including great options for dim sum, many Rockville municipal offices are located in the Rockville Town Square.

They do a great job keeping visitors entertained with live entertainment, movies, ice rink and more. Good selection of restaurants. Shopping is limited but there are a few great stores and it's nice to have the public library in the square if you want a quiet place to sit.

Not my first visit here...always find this area to be vibrant, fun, friendly and just a lovely town centre. Nicely done indeed! Plenty of good restaurants and things to do in a short walking distance of the lovely lawned, central area. Friendly, clean, welcoming and a great place to grab a coffee in the sun, or indeed dinner of an evening. Really well designed, always new things going on - live music, mini festivals, street markets/vendors. A definite "to do" when in Rockville.

Rockville town square is a great place to go. You can spend an afternoon or an evening here. You can eat, go to the market, the library, or see what the bandstand is offering. There are also retail stores.
