Don't get a membership here. Your experience will be wasteful and frustrating.
For the 3rd time in 3 months, I scheduled an appointment for a message. Because their schedule is so limited, I had to wait at least 3 weeks before I could get the appointment. For the 3rd time in 3 months, on the morning of my appointment Massage Envy called me to say my appointment was being cancelled for that day. This is the frustrating part.
I pay a lot of money every month to have access to these services. And then you need to provide a healthy tip to the masseuse after every service. However, while they collect your money every month, it so hard to get an appointment. This is the wasteful part.
And if you're thinking of contacting the "Corporate Office", forget it. The office in Arizona is essentially for people who want to open a franchise. When you call them, they say they will have the local franchise owner contact you. That was a week ago...I'm still waiting.
Bottom line...while the front desk receptionists are pleasant, the operating model is insufficiently staffed and the leadership appears to be indifferent to customer's needs. Again, my recommendation is to stay away.

Never ever go there. Massages were great but business practices are unscrupulous. Do not sign a contract and do not give them your money. They will abuse your credit card and make charges you have not authorized.

They charged me for the full hour even when I called 24 hours before which is the policy. They were rude and still did not refund me. They claimed their manager would take care of it, they told me I wouldn't be charged then charged me days later. I will never go here again.

Been a member for years - sort of got trapped when there was several months I could not go and didn't want to give up the $ in the massages I hadn't used. It created a cycle that was hard to get out of and I have been trying for years (there are very limited times where i can go get a massage with any of the people i like to go to). Some of the therapists there are really, really great. Heather is awesome and an undervalued asset to the business. She has great skill and a wonderful demeanor. When you have an issue you really need worked on or like deep tissue - Maria is your gal. It will be uncomfortable at times, but she will work at a muscle until it gets better.
I really like the therapists, just don't like getting trapped in a cycle of paying etc.

I called this location to make a one time appointment to use up some flex spending account money before the end of the year.
I was clear when I booked the appointment and the day of the appointment that I was there for one time because I wanted to use FSA money. After stating this I still had to remind the front desk that I wasn’t interested in membership, just a massage.
When I called to get a receipt for the massage several days later the same front desk staff told me that itemized receipts are a “membership benefit”. No one was able to send me this policy in writing, nor were they willing to budge.
I feel like I agreed to spend money there under a false impression that I could submit my receipt to be reimbursed. I also feel that this location is so driven to push membership that they’ve lost sight of customer service.
Every Massage envy that I’ve been to feels the same and this one is no different. You walk in, are subjected to a persistent sales pitch, and then wait for a therapist to tell you it’s time for your massage. In the past I’ve been willing to overlook the used car dealership feel of Massage Envy because the therapists have been great. I can’t overlook it anymore. I hope this franchise in particular takes notice.

I have been going to this Massage envy for years for deep tissue massage. First, if you need/want regular massages you cannot beat the price in this area. I tried several places and the massages elsewhere cost far more. Second, it is all about finding the right massage therapist for your needs and that makes you feel comfortable. I see Maria and she is amazing. Third, the only reason i give this ME 4 stars instead of 5 is i have had a few appointments messed up over the years as the people working at the desk have screwed up my appointments and often they book me (evenings) on holidays then change their mind about being open late on a holiday and have to cancel/change my appointment. My only other complaint is they need more deep tissue therapists. but i really like this ME and everyone is friendly and the space is clean and comfortable.

Recently I went to Massage Envy to purchase a gift card for my girl friend. I gave the person at their desk her name, they looked it up and then I indicated what services I wanted to have the gift card cover. These included a 90 minute hot stone massage, aroma therapy add on, a foot scrub and a facial. The attendant gave me a total price of $200 for those services and I purchased the gift card for her. My girl friend makes an appointment for the indicated services and goes to Massage Envy. Long story short, she comes home to inform me that they did not give her the hot stone massage but gave her a regular massage indicating thats what would be covered. The hot stone massage that I purchased for her had a higher cost. They did not do the aroma therapy (which I paid extra for that service) and did not give her the foot scrub. AND when she got to the front desk was informed she now owed them an extra $150 for the services they did provide. She paid it not wanting to start an argument. This is typical bait and switch. I paid for specific services based on what THEIR employee indicated the cost would be AFTER they looked her up on THEIR system only to have her not get the services I HAD paid for and to charge her 75% additional for the lesser services while not performing some paid for. I would highly recommend avoiding using Massage Envy for any business and find a reputable massage service.

First Time, made an appointment for a 90 minute massage. Appointment set three days ahead of time for 4:30 pm. I had to provide a credit card when making appointment for them incase I cancelled w/o a 24 hour notice and they can charge me a $50 fee. Got a call day before confirming my appointment. So day of my appointment I get a call at 3:15pm, an hour and so before my appointment, that my therapist wasn't feeling well and they needed to reschedule. I was to say the least not happy! I asked if they can have someone else do it, they said they did not have anyone. Well if my therapist wasn't feeling well that day, couldn't they have called me earlier? She said he just let her know he was not coming in. Hello, NOT my problem! I think its pretty unfair that they can charge me a $50 fee if I do not give them a 24 hour notice that I am canceling, but they only give me an hour notice and cancel on me with no compensation! Sorry, but I will never be going to this massage envy location. Another location will be getting my business.

My wife gave me a gift certificate for Massage Envy After accessing the online booking page numerous times for a weekend appointment, each time I was unable to get an appointment. When I finally called the Bowie office, the woman on the other end was very snippy. She said the soonest weekend appointment would be a full month away! I asked how my wife could get a refund and was informed, "Oh, we never give refunds on gift certificates". So I called the College Park office. Fortunately they had an appointment for Sunday. Then the kick in the stomach was she wanted my credit card. "For our no-show policy charges," she said. This is a gift certificate, and already paid for, so why would I be charged AGAIN when they already have our money??? A call to the Rockville office also produced the same scam. NEVER PATRONIZE THIS SCAM COMPANY, is our recommendation!

I have had few facials between DC, VA and MD, and trust me I know who can give you an amazing facial. One of my Friends recommended this place for a facial with their Esthetician named "Sara", so I booked an appointment with her on Sunday. WOW, let me tell you, I was very impressed with the amount of knowledge she possessed and the way she answered my questions regarding my skin and my nutrition. My skin felt so good, it felt like I had a mini face-lift done! She is amazing and I would highly recommend her to all my friends. The sad part is that she only works on Sundays. In one word, if you are looking for an amazing facial you better go see her.
