Fabulous customer service and beautiful work.

I purchased a beautiful limestone mantel from The Gatz. It arrived in great shape and was prettier than the photos.

I also worked with Zach to have a custom marble bathtub made. Unfortunately, when the tub was completed in China, they had used the wrong marble. Zach was as disappointed as I was, but he did everything he could to make it right. I would not hesitate to buy from the Gatz or commission another custom piece.

My husband and I have searched everywhere for pieces to match our dining table that were reasonably priced and in good condition. The Gatz was our jackpot. Not only did we find pieces that were perfect that didn't break our bank, they offer a full restoration service before the pieces are picked up so the drawers etc all work well. No other antique dealer we've met has offered this at no charge.

We drove over an hour to take a look at the pieces we picked online, and met the entire family, all of whom were polite and knowledgeable. They showed us our pieces directly in their warehouse, and even assembled one that had recently arrived from Belgium so we could see what it looked like.

Every penny was well spent here and we will certainly be returning for more additions to our furniture collection.

Poor Quality & Zero Customer Service

Purchased 2 expensive pieces of leather furniture, whose leather has cracked in multiple areas on both club chairs. This is obviously lousy quality merchandise. I called Gatsby's, attempting to secure red leather dye, paste, whatever to make these chairs look less horrible and cheap. Spoke with a 'Cheryl' once on the phone and her one email let me know that any problems were obviously my own fault. She hasn't responded my subsequent call or email. There are so many better places to shop, I'd skip the visit to this store.

Welcomed and Warmly Greeted, A unexpectedly Nice Antique Shopping Experience!

Out of town guest stopped by The Gatz and was warmly greeted by the owner of the shop. Was allowed to browse around the entire store, asking any questions that came up. Fun to see antique furniture sets, beautiful antique bed on display. All prices clearly marked. Shipping to anywhere in the world. Beautiful carved statues outside the shop.A excellent activity for any visitor who enjoys antiques and collectables as there is a large variety of items for different kinds of style and tastes. Will return to this shop again!

The Gatz.. A very difficult business handled by the owners fair and honestly

Any person writing a negative review about the Gatz simply had no intention of paying for the merchandise they purchased. I have purchased numerous antiques from John some huge over 500 pounds and 100 years old. There were small issues in shipping transport sometimes. John always made it right without my asking. In my 30 plus years of business I have learned so people are never happy and sometimes its just fraud.
Doing Business with the Gatz is knowing customer service is #1 there we keep doing business with this company.

BUYERS BEWARE

BUYERS BEWARE: I ordered a custom made marble fireplace from Zach at the Gatz on 3/20/2014, one (1) year ago. The Gatz received the fireplace shipped in from China, upon which one piece was cracked. I was offered $100.00 off for the mishap with the guarantee that they could fix it without ever noticing the crack. The Gatz then shipped the fireplace to us, upon which we opened the crate and immediately noticed that two (2) more pieces were cracked and the piece they had repaired was sloppily mended, with the crack still showing. I contacted the Gatz the day of delivery, as instructed, with my findings. Katherine apologized and said Zach would be in touch. As of today, March 25, 2015, the cracked pieces have not been replaced or repaired and I still have an unfinished fireplace. The Gatz has done absolutely nothing to resolve this matter, so I contacted my credit card company hoping to dispute the final payment of 50%. Zach at The Gatz, disputed my chargeback, claiming that I, THE CUSTOMER, had lied about not having a functional, installed fireplace. This dispute has been going on for more than half a year, and I have yet to receive any resolution, refund, and simple apology. Bottom line, do NOT buy from here. The product was below average in quality with multiple repairs besides the cracked pieces, and the customer service is one of the worst I have ever dealt with.

As a family-owned and operated business for over 20 years The Gatz is proud of its hard earned customer service record as proven by our 100% eBay feedback as well as our customer feedback comments posted on our website. We find Mr. Judson's posting inaccurate, incomplete and full of false accusations,. Mr. Jeff Judson did unfortunately receive two small pieces of marble that were damaged by the shippers in transit. Upon notifying us we were sympathetic to the situation offering nothing but apologies and coming up with a way to resolve the issue. Mr. Judson never elected for a return/refund but was adamant about resolving the issue with the mantel he had in his possession. One of the several options discussed was for us to replace and send new pieces or for him to have them fixed locally and we would pay this cost. An agreement was reached to repair the pieces for $560 which we were eager to pay upon submission of a formal quote from him. No such document was ever provided by Mr. Judson. Mr. Judson then for reasons unknown decided to contact the credit card company and request a charge-back in the amount of $1,750. In the charge-back filing Mr Judson stated that he had shipped the mantel back to us, submitted a delivery date we received the mantel and claimed to be in possession of no mantel. We notified the credit card company that we never initiated a return and provided the appropriate accounting records to show this. Assuming the customer must have made their own arrangements for the alleged return we requested the tracking number and name of the shipping company or any other proof he shipped this back, Mr. Judson again did not submit any information or documents to substantiate his claims. At the request of Mr. Judson his credit card company conducted their own investigation into the allegations made by Mr. Judson. After our full cooperation and reviewing the facts, Mr. Judson's credit card company made their decision to decline his request for a charge-back. Following his credit card companies decision Mr. Judson submitted a request to elevate the investigation through the arbitration process where we again offered our full cooperation to their independent review board. Again, the credit card company made a decision that based on the allegations and facts of the case and for a second time Mr Judson's credit card company denied his request for a charge-back. Following this most recent of decisions by his card company Mr. Judson has engaged in a campaign of online bullying tactics attempting to smear our companies hard earned reputation. This campaign as conducted by or on behalf of Mr. Jeff Judson is filled with false accusations, inaccuracies and fabrications. Mr Judson's false accusations lash out at the character of our family and employees and falls into the category of road rage and certainly consumer fraud.
