Nicest people ever to rent a kayak from! The Pocomoke River is right there to launch into and there are great restaurants all around within walking distance.

By Wednesday of our week in Ocean City, we were ready for a break from the beach. We came across an ad for this company in an OC magazine and drove the half hour or so to Snow Hill. We had 3 adults and did the Porter’s Crossing excursion in a canoe. We had next to zero canoeing experience, but everything was easy and the Pocomoke was shady, cool and beautiful; even on a sultry August day. The staff are friendly and helpful and could not have been nicer or more helpful. It took us 2.5 hours and seemed like the perfect length of time. We plan to come back in the fall to see the fall colors on the Pocomoke. This company, as well as the town of Snow Hill, are hidden gems!

Thank you Barry at Pocomoke River Company for being so flexible and understanding. Took me three tries to get our group on the river (rained out twice) but it was well worth it. We're 11 friends who got out on the river and had an absolutely wonderful time. Barry and his helper (so sorry, i don't remember his name) were great at getting us set up and comfortable and made the put-in very easy. You can usually choose to go to the right or the left (goat island way) but the river was high and we literally could not fit under the bridge - even ducked down - so we went to the right and we were happy we did. Beautiful, serene, and relaxing. Soul nourishing just being in nature, i loved seeing the trees that are literally growing in the river - guess you can't overwater them. They were all knarly and a few looked like dr seuss trees.
when we got back - Barry allowed us to stay out past closing time! - they were there to help us out and dock the boats. smooth and easy and we will definitely be back again.

My family has been here 3 times in the past year. We've done both the Porter's Crossing paddle and hourly paddling in area. We've used both kayaks and stand up paddle boards. Service is great. Equipment is in good condition. Highly recommend for families with teens.

Never disappointed at Pocomoke River Canoe Company. I purposively come to Snow Hill for the Kayaking and Hiking. And the gentlemen here always hustle to make your trips on the Pocomoke and Nasawango Creek special. Equipment is always in tip top shape. Enjoyed the best trips ever (4 in 3 days) this past weekend. Why did I leave????

Super nice place! Highly recommend! We stumbled upon Pocomoke River Canoe Company when we were in Snow Hill. They are very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. We look forward to coming again.

We camped at Shad Landing in Pocomoke River State Forrest and drove here for our girls to paddle board. Nice guys running the place, calm river for the kids to paddle board and a $5 discount if you show proof of camping at Shad Landing. We inquired about canoe trips - sounded fun but we didn’t end up going.

We have rented canoes from the Pocomoke River Canoe Company several times. They are always very friendly and helpful. The canoes are always in good condition. When we visited Snow Hill in 2014 and 2019, we were shuttled to Porter's Crossing and paddled back to Snow Hill. Quite an adventure for us in 2019 when the water was low, but we made it! We did the Nassawingo Creek/Pocomoke River paddle years ago and hope to do that one again the next time we are in Snow Hill.
On our most recent visit to Snow Hill (July, 2020), we just rented a canoe by the hour because it was very hot. Despite heat & humidity, we had a lovely paddle up the river and through the lily pads! Now we are looking forward to returning when it is cooler!
I would highly recommend this company as well as the town of Snow Hill itself for a visit!

Lots of fun for all ages, even singles. You will also have a chance to see wildlife. Whether you like to canoe or kayak , you will enjoy this trip. The staff is very helpful and courteous.

We meet Barry when we went to look at a kayak he had listed on Facebook market place. The kayak was on sale and when we went to test it he looked it up on-line and found the manufacture had it on sale. He honored the manufacture's sale price which was lower than his sale price. My friend bought the kayak he had after testing it out in the river. I liked it so much I had him ordered me one as well.
The paddle from the top of the river was awesome! We took almost 7 hours, most do it in under 3 hours we're told, as we fished the nooks along the way. I plan to take my kids next spring so they can experience the beauty of the river. They don't like fishing so it will be much faster.
We ended up spending some time talking with Barry and we left with a new friend. We had so much fun we're talking about making it an annual trip.
