Nice grounds to walk through and see the displays. Most is shaded, helping out on a hot day. There seemed to be no clear path to follow so seemed a bit haphazard and involved back tracking a bit at parts but you are expecting to walk anyway. Nice gallery inside with additional nature stuff, art and paintings.

We went to see works by 2 Baltimore painters and see their presentations, and noted the work stations of several other craftsmen working on their various projects involving various mediums. Located in the center of a large forested property, this facility is quite modern, designed for maximum daylight in its exhibition halls, and is a delight to visit. Artists hold sessions with hands-on opportunities for visitors to learn about their crafts, very educational. Outside in the park there are additional curiosities posted within easy reach of the winding paths, all easy to walk or for bikes or baby carriages. Many offer discovery experiences for children using hands-on methods, inviting kids to explore and be inquisitive. This garden offers wonderful experiences inside and outside, for people of all ages.

Great place for the kiddos. They have multiple places for the kids to play both inside and out. There artlab is available from open to close and my girls lived marketing their asset pieces and bringing them home.

This wooded area has a collection of contemporary artworks from the Hirshorn museum in DC as well as other contemporary pieces. They also have an extensive children’s program (just looking at the facilities indoor and outdoors). There is a central building that houses more local art, as well as a nice gift shop.
We enjoyed both, although I recommend taking bug spray for mosquitoes if there isn’t a breeze.
It’s not far outside of Solomons Island.

This is such a lovely place! Went there on a hot day but the hike through the woods was very pleasant due to the tree canopy. Tracking the fairy houses was delightful - wish I had had children with me to make it even better! I’ve seen more impressive sculpture gardens, but the total package for this place makes it 5 star in my book. There were some beautiful and thought-provoking works in the indoor installations. And the art studio and classes available looked very inviting for anyone who would be in the area long enough to take advantage. I would definitely go back and highly recommend!

It’s fun and there are hiking trails. Great for kids. Also there’s an art workshop to create A ton of cool and exciting things.

Although we picked a hot day to visit this mostly outside sculpture garden, it was bearable due to most the displays covered by a tree canopy. The sculptures were scattered along a path with beautiful trees and water providing Mother Nature's sculptures alongside artists works. It was great to see the play area for children as well as programs designed for family interaction.

My daughters and I came here to see the fairy houses (seasonal exhibit) because they love building them. There were SO MANY fairy houses, and they were fun to find along the sculpture garden path. The path also had activities for kids to do that were painted on the pathway. (For example: Follow a crooked line running like a squirrel; Hope on the letters of the alphabet in order.) There was also a playground for them to enjoy.
It was a pretty hot day, so we went inside the building for most of our visit. There was plenty of art in there as well. The gallery is just the right size for kids to enjoy looking at the different styles of art work without losing their attention span for the activity.
They were also able to participate in an artist in residence program which means their creation will be part of an art installation at the Annmarie Sculpture Garden. The room in which they created their art had lots of materials and ideas for things kids could create. We could have easily spent over an hour in that room alone.
The building also housed a nature area including some live animals and information about symbiotic relationships among organisms. My kids are really into science, so they were particularly thrilled with that.
All in all, this is a great place to visit with a family. (I think it would also be a wonderful place for a date or just to go with friends.) If it had been a cooler day, we probably would have spent more time outside and remained there for 3-4 hours.

Super kid-friendly, but a gorgeous walkthrough for all ages. The woods are well kept and littered with fairy houses. The sculptures and various art pieces are spaced out, giving you time to appreciate each. We had a great time!

Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash and you clean up after them. they are NOT ALLOWED to special events such as Arts Fest.

The typical visit to see the sculpture and stroll the path takes between 1 to 2 hours depending upon how much you like to study the art and read about the artist and their work. A tour guide map is provided.
If there is an exhibit or two, such as right now, then you can easily spend another hour perusing the exhibits in the two indoor galleries.
Yes, a picnic is always encouraged! We have lots of outdoor seating and shade places, as well as inside too!

Hello Randy,
Our Maker's Markets, in general, get 50 vendors and upwards of 300 people attending. Weather and time of year have great influence on the turn out. But we do have special Maker's Market events such as the Green Expo in May that has more than 1000 visitors and 80 vendors. We also added an Indoor Holiday Maker's Market on December 4th and 5th.

We experience 30 plus vendors on a typical outdoor maker's Market, depending upon weather of course. The other "special" Maker's Markets, such as the Green Maker's in May, and the Sea Glass & Beach Crafts in June see more vendors. We just added a new indoor Holiday Market in December. Indoor events are always larger!
