Very interesting & informative tour on Cranberry harvesting. Jamie explained the history, the whole process & the different sorts of harvesting clearly. These are top quality dry-harvested fruit rather than flooded bogs. Dot made us a great Cranberry Tea & got to meet Jack too. They were all so friendly despite having a business to run & being 2 days off harvest start. Well worth a stop if you are in the Plymouth / Carver area.

We arrived late in the day but they welcomed us with a mini tour and full explanation of the cranberry growing and harvest process. Fall is the cranberry harvesting season when the fields are ripe and there’s a lot of activity. The gift shop is lovely with lots of cranberry goodies and an area for demonstrating cranberry processes. You can also buy fresh cranberries along with jelly, taffy, and numerous other cranberry goods. We stopped on a whim and absolutely loved it. My grandkids 15 and 12 really enjoyed hearing about how to grow and harvest cranberries. A must see on your list if you’re in the Carver or Plymouth Massachusetts area.

What an amazing hour we spent here . The owner told us about the harvesting and showed us the bog and then we went inside to see how the cranberries are sorted . A small family run business that does not charge for the tours but has a lot of knowledge to share in an interesting way

Went to the Flax cranberry bog farm. Didn't really see them harvesting cranberries. We spent about ten minutes with the owner talking to us on our motorcoach and then went in to the giftshop to taste their products and buy some. Interesting visit. Reccomend if you can find. Rating... good.

Mid-September until November is harvest season for Cranberries.The six of us stopped in just to see cranberries being harvested. What a surprise we had. Not only could we watch the berries being dry harvested but back at the Gift Shop we also were given the opportunity to sort and grade the berries on an antique manual grading machine with instruction from the owner and farm guide. Lots of samples of cranberry products made the gift shop very inviting. And a free farm talk was giving which included the history of the farm and lots of information about cranberries. Even though cranberries are tart, we had a sweet time!

I don’t want to give them 1.
We called ahead to ask about tours and were told we would have a tour available and just show up. When we arrived there was not a tour per se. we were told to go and watch the harvesting and come back and they would answer any of our questions. They also said, nobody would come off the bog and speak with us. When we returned the personnel were too busy to answer our questions. We left confused.

Some of the friendliest people we met on our trip. We had just been to another bog where you need to reserve a trip to the field in advance. Not the case at Flax, although we spent most of the time watching them load the antique sorting equipment. They carry a nice variety of cranberry candies and other products. They gave us samples and answered all our questions patiently and thoroughly. If you like agrotourism, this is a great place to visit.

Massachusetts is famous for cranberries and there are a number of farms open to the public. We researched and decided to visit this traditional dry cranberry farm. The owners were really enthusiastic and eager to tell us about growing cranberries, farming techniques, how to sort them and where they went off to make Ocean Spray products. We saw them harvesting the crop with the old-fashioned machinery and learned so much about cranberries we did not have a clue about. They have a well-stocked shop, perfect for buying gifts to take home.

Hi, my mother and I were interested in coming in September or October - 1. are the tours given any day in those months and what are the hours for tours? 2. Also can just 2 people come by and go take a tour or do we have to be with a bus tour? 3. Should I call ahead if I am taking a tour ? Thank you

I don't know about September. We went in October. The farm shop, which has demos, is open every day as I recall. The tours are both self directed and with a "guide" and were all walking tours. This bog does "dry" harvest (only about 10% do dry harvest) so it is weather dependent. I would call to see when they plan on doing any harvesting. It is definitely worth a visit.
