Sandbanks all around and meant a well-covered beach from the Atlantic when we visited. Park at the Lighthouse and have a walk down and along to the beach

Lighthouse beach is a short walk from town. The bus driver I had said he used to go there until there was a fatal shark attack. This is due to the influx of great whites over the last ten years. The beach wasn’t too busy in the week even being august. I enjoy a peaceful beach day before boarding the bus back to Eastham.

Today we drove from west yarmouth to chatham to see the beach and lighthouse. We actually didn't go down to the beach but we enjoyed the view and the vibe. Lots of couples and familes stopped to take pictures. A few minutes away is the very touristy town of chatham. A nice way ro spend an hour.

With the lighthouse on one side of the road, and the beach on the other; this is an especially pleasurable spot to stop, and enjoy yet another engaging section of the shoreline.
Being mid-May, this location was busy; but not uncomfortably so. Parking was readily available; and strolling along, was leisurely and unharried.
This location is one, of so many wonderful natural opportunities, that can be experienced on the Cape.

This is an incredible end of the earth type if beach. There are seals playing and sunning just off the beach and the views are amazing. The Chatham blue water changes with the weather and time of day/year. For photographers there are never ending subjects to photograph. Be sure to visit the beach shack and leave a message in the book.

There is a lot of nice flat sand here with good access. There is ample free parking across the street from it. However, this is in a touristy area that can be very congested.

Fabulous beach! We spent 30 minutes or so just taking a walk before heading to our next stop. Yes, there are warning signs for sharks but they do live there

We had a great time here in July.
You can't park at the top of the beach, parking is only for 30 minutes there.
We parked around the corner which was great value and they provided transport to the beach which was cool.
The beach was stunning, it was great seeing the Great White Shark signs. The sand was the best ever and the water was lovely.
It was great for kids.
Would highly recommend.

Yes, same spot as always , from main St next to wine bar. $15 for both parking and shuttle. Bargain!

Great question! There is 30 minute parking in the lot along the road at the beach. It is enforced, and during the summer often not available.
There is also a parking lot less than a mile away in Chatham center where parking is $5 and a shuttle will bring you to the beach.
