Loud music and smoking

A small, nice beach close to Falmouth downtown. The problem is the people—too many play loud music or even smoke!

If Locusts Had a Beach, it’d be Old Silver

Formerly one of Falmouth’s best, Old Silver has been undone by it’s popularity. If you do manage to snag a parking space, towels, umbrellas and massive canopies are packed so tightly that you’ll be hard pressed to thread your way to the water. Once you do, prepare to dodge countless heavily tattooed women of all ages wearing teeny-tiny bikinis as they snap Swimsuit Issue photos by the dozen, teens vaping and cussing, middle aged men toting red solo cups and general chaos. It’s a great beach, but an awful scene.

A great beach!

We were on vacation in Plymouth and wanted a nice beach to visit. I reviewed several beaches on the Cape in tripadvisor and kept coming back to this one. We visited Old Silver beach and was very pleased. Beautifal sand, plenty of parking, beautifal warmer water than other beaches. Restrooms and snack shack eatery available. Some rocky entrance into the water but a great beach with beautifal views!

Just one of the okay Cape beaches

If you want a small beach, go here.
If you don't want to swim, go here. The water is very full of sea weed. Lots of rocks too along the shore; not good for me with bad feet.

Great beach

Awesome beach layout, beach had lifeguards, facilities, food and drinks. Can get crowded during the summer but overall great place for a beach day!

Pride and joy of Falmouth

You’d be criminally insane if you don’t have Old Silver as one of your to do things while in Falmouth during the summer. This classic looking beach is a must spot for beach lovers - my mom used to take me here when I was a toddler and I can see after spending the whole day yesterday with a buddy why she did.

This is truly a great place for young children as they will be able to roam around in the shallow water while you can sit and enjoy your beverages - just be sure to use plastic cups or coozies if you’re feeling adventurous.

There’s ample parking and it’s $30 for the day - well worth it for an entire day. If you don’t feel like bringing lunch then there’s a snack bar with your usual burger/hotdog grub.

I don’t get what the previous reviewer was saying about the wind but it would’ve been wise to consult with the National Weather Service beforehand. I also didn’t notice any rocks - maybe they cleaned it up.

Thank you Old Silver and I’ll be back with the little ones!

A very beautiful clean and not rocky shallow water . Children can swim even farther from the shore. $30 parking fee ,with bathrooms and food stand. Swimming area is Separately, for public and for the residents. I recommend this highly to everyone 👍.

This was one of the only peat beach experiences I’ve ever had, it was absolutely freezing there was so much wind and this beach is extremely small which I wish I was aware of beforehand. And it was filled with euther elders or newborns. Overall it was horrible and I’m never coming back.

Lovely beach, but rocky!

The rocks weren't so bad during high tide, but it was very difficult to get in during low tide. There were some huge rocks upon entry and we cut our feet on the smaller ones. Would return if not for the rocks.

Beautiful Bach!

Old Silver Beach is our go to beach when visiting the Cape. Sun, sand and views are the very best, in my opinion. We have visited several times and each time was perfect! We walked over to Red's at the Seacrest Resort and had a fabulous meal.
