The small lake is beautiful, with a walking trail all around it. We met a member of the citizens group that supports the park, and she told us the fascinating history. We also walked into the woods in one of the marked trails and saw beautiful rock formations and a narrow creek flowing between the rocks. Children and seniors were feeding the ducks and Canada geese. There was a rock band playing by the stone house. Much of the park was built by the WPA during the Depression. A delilghtful find!

I came here with my family for a walk before dinner, and the lake in the center is absolutely stunning. There is a path around it, but we weren't able to use it, because it didn't allow dogs (though strangely dogs are allowed in all of the rest of that park, just not the pretty path), and it wasn't fully wheelchair accessible. The park also had no map posted at the entrance or the center, and I couldn't figure out where the trails started. But if you are able bodied and sans dog, this would be a lovely spot.

Love this park! Over 200 acres with hiking trails and winding roads that lead to a lovely pond with a bandstand extending into the pond. This place is a peaceful oasis about 1 mile from downtown Fitchburg. It is quite hilly in spots, but offers many different trails to hike. The roads are also walkable and two of the roads are no longer in use, so offer a great opportunity for a quiet hike (I even saw a deer once, on one of these roads!) There is also a playground for the little ones. Weekends are more popular than weekdays, but anytime you go will be a lovely visit. Park opens at 7:45 a.m. and closes before it gets dark.

went to Coggshall Park the other day, haven't been there in YEARS. Very neat and clean and still beautiful as ever. Few people sitting and walking around. Ducks are well taken care of and I can see they don't miss a treat. Saw a few couples and families hiking and others eating a picnic meal. I am so happy that the Park is still here. Let's all keep it clean.

Very pretty place to escape in the city. You can enjoy a hike on the trails. Bring your kids for time in the playground and a picnic. See the ducks and geese too! You may even catch a wedding or a photo shoot as this is a great place for both.

It definitely isn't. There are all sorts of signs reading, "No dogs allowed." Nothing dog friendly about it. Very disappointing. The managers should look into removing the listings of this being dog friendly if they don't want dogs there.

Fitchburg residents forget how beautiful this place really is. I know I take a ride up there in spring and summer and fall and just sit in my car and enjoy the scenery and the memories!

This park was highly recommended as "dog friendly" - not so much. Everywhere I looked were signs that "no dogs allowed". Very disappointing.

Our family loves this park. From the little pond with the ducks and geese, to the walking trails. The only thing the kids wished there was more/better of is playground equipment. That doesn't mean they don't enjoy what is there. It's great park that you can easily spend most of your day.

I come here randomly if I get bored but definately is a childhood memory and favorite..if you have kids theyll love it because theres a bunch of ducks everywhere and they do have a kids play area with swings..great spot to walk and get fresh air!!!

It's a man made pond from what I know. Like there used to be a waterfall on the far side but it's dry. I wouldn't eat anything out of it and I am pretty sure you cannot fish there, anyway.
