Amy and her Alpacas made our day! Thank you for an informative and fun hands-on visit with the Harvard Alpaca Farm family. We have a new appreciation for the work you do and for the Alpacas in your care. Please know your outreach work makes a difference in the lives of others.
Don’t miss the Alpaca Gift Shop which tastefully displays ethically sourced Alpaca fiber items at reasonable prices.
Reservations are a must but easy to make online. Although tours are free, a donation is very worthwhile and supports this valuable local business.

We "adopted" an alpaca for my husband's Christmas gift. When we got there Matt gave us a small tour of the ranch and introduced us to lots of the alpacas. We were able to take the 1 we adopted for a walk around the grounds. Answered any questions we had and offered so much more info. We went back to visit again today and were able to just hang out with the alpacas. Love it so much we adopted another one! Matt and Amy are fantastic and the store has some amazing stuff! Highly recommend a visit here for a tour.

Incredible experience!! We had our entire soccer team on the ranch for yoga with the Alpacas!! Matt was so accommodating and made a memorable day for the entire team!!

My parents and I visited over the weekend. I've lived in Massachusetts for 4 years and had no idea this place even existed!
It was a lovely drive, right off State 110. There were 31 alpacas and a few cute babies. Anna, our staff MC knew every single one by name and all of their little idiosyncrasies.
Would DEFINITELY recommend a visit!

What a hidden gem! Myself and 20 of my co workers visited Harvard Alpaca Ranch in late June for a 3 hour outing. The Alpacas were such soft, gentle and sweet creatures. The female Alpaca allowed us to put down our mats in their pasture and do Yoga under their watchful eye. We later met with the Alpaca males who were just as gentle and sweet. Matt gave us an educational tour of ranch along with a "question and answer" session. He was extremely knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome. We also had a casual and tasty lunch under a canopied picnic area prepared by the local general store. What a amazing time we all had. It was an experience that none of us will soon forget. Thank you Matt and your 2 assistants.

A great little alpaca farm located just an hour outside Boston. While it would be more convenient to drive to the ranch, we took a train from Boston (the journey from North Station took a little under an hour), then an Uber from Littleton station that's 10-12 minutes away from the farm.
The tours are free of cost; you are supposed to buy something from the shop that is stocked with products made from alpaca wool, fabric, winter apparel, ceramic mugs, toys, plushies and trinkets and other odds and ends.
The owner was very accommodating and amable, and moved our tour up by close to 20 minutes as we had arrived fairly early.
Our tour guide, once she was done with another group, took us around the farm, introduced us to the animals and let us look around. We were free to touch and pet the animals, although it was lunch time when we got there, so all the alpacas were too busy eating. I did manage to pet a few of them, though!
All in all, it was an incredible experience to see a place where these beautiful animals are well taken care of, fed and given a home. One of the pregnant alpacas will give birth in July and we'll hopefully go again during the fall to see the cria.

The alpacas are just the sweetest, friendliest, and softest! Plus, there were so many! The tour was very informational and the guide was very knowledgeable about the alpacas. We learned so much and had a really great experience.

A wonderful, family-operated ranch. Matt gave a very informative tour of the ranch, introduced us to the alpacas, and gave us some perspective on their usefulness from the wool to the fertilizer. Our kids really enjoyed being up close with the animals. We had purchased some socks from the ranch online before the visit, and left with some more after the visit in their gift shop. The quality of the merchandise is top notch. Looking forward to purchasing more items for family and friends and will hopefully have another visit in the future.

People who run the ranch were super knowledgeable and answered all of our questions without hesitation. They were extremely kind and made the experience very enjoyable!

ps. (gf) hey guys it’s me and i wanted to say that these animals are incredibly luxe and warm. they bring so much joy to my face when i put my cheek against its soft fiber.
the farm is amazing and recommend it to anybody!

How far is your farm from downtown Boston? Coming to visit from Hawaii so might rent a car or if there are other ways to get there, please advise...

We are about an hour from downtown Boston (roughly 35 miles). However, Boston traffic can be bad and that number can vary. On a weekend, it's probably closer to 50 minutes. We have had visitors come by Zipcar and Uber. There is also a commuter train station about 3 miles away in Ayer. We have had visitors take the train from Boston to Ayer and get an Uber from there. The train to Ayer leaves out of North Station in Boston.

Thanks for contacting us. We do not charge admission for "drop in" groups of less than 10 people. For larger groups or groups that schedule a specific tour with dedicated staff, we do charge a small fee per person. Let us know if you need anything else.
