The exhibits and film were very interesting and enlightening. Courtney, a native of the Wampanoag tribe, who works at the museum made her history come alive with the tour of the wetu and carved out boat. This was a real highlight of Cape Cod.

Low key museum. There is a guide who is quite knowledgeable. Outside and inside exhibits, but small. There is a stream near the parking area and we saw some fish and an eel. I purchased a piece of jewelry. Bring cash

My family and I visited the Wampanoag Museum yesterday and were so humbled and honored to learn about the history AND PRESENT day happenings of the Wampanoag Nation. Anita Mother Bear Peters was an incredible guide and the narrative is not a rehearsed, it’s her and people’s story.

The museum is housed in her great grandmother’s home and every part of what she shares is personal.

It was a sobering reminder to be mindful of the land we are on and who it belonged/belongs to.

It was a powerful visit.

The museum is surprisingly small and the collection of photos is a bit sparse. But it’s not these things that captivate your imagination or interest, it’s the local curator. She provided us a glimpse of how her people lived and survived from past to present; the hardship in maintaining their cultural identity and struggles integrating into America’s new social rules and prejudices

I do highly recommend a visit to this small Mashpee museum to better understand how the Mashpee Indians integrated into America and what they lost in doing so.

There is a replica of a hut dwelling and a canoe. You can see how the Indians utilize these materials to survive.

At the end of the parking lot, there is a small creek stream with-a Herring ladder. I found it very interesting to see and learn about the Herring returning upstream to nest.

This was a small museum with limited displays, but the guide was fantastic. She was tribe member with a long family history and knowledge of the tribe's customs and history.

It sort of felt like " the rest of the story" from the Native American side. I learned so much and am planning to do more research in my spare time. This is a must see with the tour guide if you are interested in New England history.

Our guides were women who grew up in this area and are part of the tribal group.
The museum offered tremendous info on yesteryear and today.
Very reasonable entrance fee- even a senior discount!

Very interesting and informative museum about Wampanoags. Relatively small but fascinating to learn their history and interactions with settlers from a different perspective. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend to everyone!!

We enjoyed our visit to this museum. Our guide was so knowledgeable and welcoming. We learned a lot. Our kids were bored after a little while. If there were some hands on things inside the small museum that would be great. Seeing the Indian house in the back was cool—we loved learning about the Wampanoag tribe. If they had just a little more to see/do it would be great, especially paying $8 per person admission. We wanted to buy t shirts on the way out, but they were not stocked with various sizes—they only had a few men’s tank tops. Having a supply of shirts would’ve been great.

Our docent was a tribal member descended from early members of the Wampanoag tribe and very familiar with the history and willing to share her family and tribe's legacy. The museum is a little jewel, with a dugout canoe and wigwam in the back. There's a lot to learn and our host was generous in sharing the tribe's history up to the present day.
