Went to plum island today may 22 2020, dont go unless you have a place to park, all lots and parking for any beach access is CLOSED !!! Drove 130 miles for nothing........ but had a wonderful drive, HAHA

It is always so beautiful on the beach but I really enjoy the winter months. The beach is so peaceful without many people. As long as the wind isn't blowing the sun feels so warm walking along the beach. I love listening to the waves break and finding shells as I go.

Newbury beach on Plum Island is a relaxing place for a quick visit or leisurely rest on the beach. The island is rarely crowded and seems to be the perfect place to visit while you look out on the ocean, follow the boats going in and out of the Merrimac River, and have views that reach from the tip of Cape Ann to the Isle of Shoals.

Quite & beautiful island primarily private homes small but very clean, for any night life you must drive to town where there are lots of upscale restaurants & shops

Lined with private homes , 5-10$ to park, get there early. Can walk to ice cream, provisions, bait shop etc. . I prefer to go stay for a few days and absorb the environment which is fabulous. Fishermen, yoga, life on the beach (I am not a sun worshipper) . Swimming was 60 degrees last week (June) but hearty New Englanders were loving it! Need - warmer head south of the cape.

The beach took a bit hit during the 3 nor'easters that occurred in early March. Since it was cold, we didn't venture onto the beach. They were working on putting up a rock seawall while we were there. We were content to look at the beach from our incredible suite.

I have always loved the area and plum Island is certainly a beautiful area, very close to Newburyport.

If you do not want to take a ferry and if you want to walk the sand alone or in peace, try a visit in October .....I did swim. Watch the birds - all a slice of heaven.

This is just a delightful and fairly quirt beach during the week
It is great for those who love to fish
Just be aware that the beach drops away fairly quickly but nonetheless the whole area is beautiful!!!!!!

Is there overnight parking anywhere? We are renting a house mid August but the parking is very limited. I was hoping to find an overnight lot close by.
