We had a perfect day on the water with Captain Gig. The weather was spectacular and it was a great way to spend the afternoon. He even taught my daughter how to drive the boat! Highly recommend this charter for a fantastic day. We will be going back again when the ocean water is warmer to float!

Everything was as it should be on the yacht Gia. We sat on the bow, and had a nice, soothing ride upriver on the Merrimack. It was just what we needed. Captain Gig piloted the boat with aplomb. His knowledge of the area is encyclopedic. I highly recommend this vessel and captain.

We took a two-hour tour along the Merrimac River with Gig on the Gia. Beautiful day and wonderfully entertaining and informative trip. Gig is a great storyteller and clearly loves to share his experiences, which we enjoyed (and learned from) immensely. His boat is immaculate -- you really could eat off the floor! Highly recommend Compass Rose and Gig.

I’ve been chartering with Compass Rose for many years now. Every trip has been amazing! From a slow cruise down the Merrimack to an adventure up to Gloucester, Captain Gig provides a wonderful day on the water. He is professional and safe but also makes sure you are having a fun time. The boat ‘Gia’ is clean and impeccably maintained. I’d recommend Compass Rose to everyone! 5 stars!

I cannot recommend this boat cruise enough! I wish that we had booked a longer boat tour, but we will definitely be back to do a full day trip. This week all of my siblings were back in New England, so we decided to book a boat cruise with our parents. Gig was phenomenal, funny, and a great story teller! He gave us a tour of the underneath of the boat and told us all about his wife and his shared passion for being out on the water. We got tons of wonderful photos and most importantly got to enjoy beautiful views. Thank you Gig for a lovely evening!!!

I cannot say enough good things about our experience aboard Gia captioned by Gig Michaud of Compass Rose Yacht Charters. The setting is spectacular as you glide by picturesque Newburyport on the calm, cool waters of the Merrimack River and the Atlantic Ocean. Everything about Gig's operation is ship shape -- his boat is comfortable, spotless and safe; he has a winning personality; he is an expert boatsman, and he is a wealth of information about local, New England history that he is happy to share with his inquiring guests. Gig navigates people as well as he navigates the waters around Newburyport, and we so enjoyed our time with him on his oh-so-spiffy craft. We look forward to another nautical adventure with Gig in the near future!

Captain Gig is amazing!!!! I proposed to my now fiancée on the beautiful Gia. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Gig was wonderful and I have never been more impressed with how personal he made our experience. We plan on returning so he can marry us. And she said yes!! It was such a memorable experience I recommend his services 1000% beautiful boat and an even better captain 😀

Four ladies looked for the BEST way to begin a week-long trip to the East Coast - AND FOUND IT! Captain Gig and his beautiful yacht, Gia!
From the initial correspondence on the phone, to the day we boarded, I knew we made the right decision to book a three hour tour/cruise with Gig on the Merrimac River. He is a warm, friendly, well-informed gentleman who somehow made three hours “at sea” seem like 30 minutes. You want more! And I forgot to mention he is also hilarious. We laughed until we cried. There was never a dull moment! Gig welcomed bringing our own charcuterie tray and beverages and magically provided both the sunshine and the perfect background music. His yacht, Gia, was extremely clean, cozy, and comfortable. After returning to Newberryport, we all said (almost in unison) that we consider Captain Gig a new friend, and we will track him down whenever we get to this beautiful area of the country.
Believe me, you can trust four very critical ladies who are well traveled - you will not be disappointed. XOXO

Captain Gig was just amazing. He was warm and welcoming on the phone when we booked our trip. He made me feel very comfortable booking even though we were mid-pandemic and anything could happen... and he ended up accommodating a somewhat last minute change to our plans when I had a death in the family. He was an informed tour guide and a fascinating story teller and an obviously very experienced captain. I can't say enough good things about him, he was just so nice!
