Great morning
2021年7月
The bridge is quite nice and almost new. There is a little park with trails next to it. The most interesting thing is the story that goes along with it. I don't want to give it away but there is a sign, read it......so worth it.

A Great History Lesson
2019年8月
If you are visiting the Pepperell area, a trip to the Pepperell Covered Bridge and the park associated with it are a must. The park has a podium stone and covered "hut" explaining the history of the town and a tribute to the Revolutionary War women who intercepted a British messenger on his way to Bunker Hill as he passed thru the area. An appreciation of Pepperell and the people who have lived there in the past is a fun part of visiting historical sites in Massachusettts. It is an easily overlooked park though because there are no large signs designating its location!

Nice bridge

Nice renovation - it had a small parking area that usually had spots open. A lot of community support to help the site( there are “bricks” based on donations. Wish it was not next to huge power lines.

New but classy

Rebuilt a few years ago with a memorial right next to it with free parking this is a perfect spot to rest if you are going by. It has a pedestrian sidewalk and a few steps from down town Pepperell. The bike path is also right down the street. along with a nice local gift shop going the other way up to the left a short walk up the hill. Great center location to go looking from and have a picnic while your there.

Very cool little spot with parking and benches. Read the history if you're at all interested in the area's connections to the Revolutionary War. Fascinating.

Very New England. Many people like to take pictures of the bridge and/or of themselves on the bridge. You can walk across this bridge. Some covered bridges only have access for vehicles. This bridge is for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Nice to see if visiting in Pepperell. Nice to drive under or walk. Nice old covered bridge and just beyond it is a little country store you can visit.

Great example of a covered bridge within the town of Pepperell. It's a look of old time history in Massachusetts.

A Bridge worth Visiting
2016年12月 • 独自旅游
A bridge has been in this spot since the Revolutionary War against the British in the 1700's. To the best of my knowledge the first bridge, lasted about 200 years. The second bridge was built in 1965 with steel beam under support and a wooden floor and top. Due to heavy winter salt use and heavy truck loads the second bridge only lasted about 45 years. The salt rotted holes in the wooden floor and big holes in the web of the steel beams reducing the weight limit to 5 ton (10,000 lbs.). The bridge was almost closed to traffic. My grand children called this second bridge "The Bump-pa-tee, Bump-pa-tee, Bridge". It was so bad you would bounce in the car as you drove across.
Around 2010 thanks to state and federal funding the bridge was replaced with a new state of the art, all wood bridge. It was built in New York assembled in New York at the manufactures facility, inspected, dissembled, shipped to Pepperell and assembled on the present site. It took about 2 years from start to finish to complete.
Now we have a Beautiful Wood Bridge in place and it should last a long time.
Note: I think the first bridge lasted a long time because salt was not used on the roads and the bridge was not over stressed by heavy weight from large trucks like semi-trailers capable of carrying 35-40 ton.
