Great lake to visit----the lake is very clean---615 acres----not very crowded---wonderful lake for boating

Water rather shallow, but the area is very pleasant. Clean bathrooms, ample parking, playsets for kids.

We enjoyed kayaking Lake Onota, which was beautiful, but the beach area was full of goose droppings and some trash. There is plenty of parking and easy access to the water. The restrooms were not open due to Covid, but portable toilets were available, unfortunately they were in serious need of cleaning.

beautiful view , if going to beach bring chairs not blankets lot of gray goose droppings. Baths rooms closed so let children poop in water. Had to avoid some floaters in water . lots of free parking . Many like to come to smoke by the water view hard to avoid try to be up wind .

This is a beautiful spot. Free and plentiful parking. Easy access to the water to swim or boat. You would have to carry your kayak a little ways but it’s easy to swim. Nice mountain setting. Walking path for those who want some exercise. We spent about an hour here. There is a playground that is open. Free entrance.

Burbank Park on Onota Lake was the find of the socially-distanced season. 150+ wooded acres, fishing pier, boat launch, swimming beach, walking path. The lake itself is 600+ acres, so lots of room for everyone. Crystal clear water and plenty of shade made it the perfect choice for escaping the heat. Locals seemed to respect distancing and mask-wearing. There was no entrance fee.
Note: this is owned and managed by the city of Pittsfield. There were no lifeguards on duty during two visits of several days, so swim at your own risk. NO RESTROOMS open. Carry out your own trash.
I did notice a boat rental place nearby(but not part of) the park .

The lake has a nice pier for fishing and good boat access. It is a deep lake and great fishing and canoeing can be had here. The water is deepest off Hillcrest point area, about 90 feet deep there. This lake has some huge Bass down in there. Potential record setters. Excellent views of the mountains bordering Hancock to the west. I have been kayaking and canoeing this sines I was a kid and it is a Great Lake for that.

Always lots of kayaks and canoes - they practice for josh Billings all the time. Williams college has rowing team there as well - weekends few more motor boats out. Most kayaks do the covers and parameter - wakes depends on boats at the time but in my opinion not as bad as larger lakes. Enjoy

Yes, it is, but remember there's a body of water called lake Onota and you may have to keep an eye on the toddlers. There are swings and sew-saws, The surface is mostly flat along the shore of the lake with light gradients. There are picnic areas with tables and barbecues, some under the shade. They have a beach area too, but I can't remember if they maintain lifeguards on duty. There are restrooms and a snack shop withing a building.
