very small place, but great to see some artifacts, how courts were held in those days and how hot it could get in a court room, worth the stop in, close to burial hill

Free and interesting!

We had not planned to visit this but on the Ghost Tour, the guide encouraged us to visit it. (The stories she told helped a bit.) It's free, parking is easy, and there are free bathrooms behind and below it, so there was a lot to draw you in. The man who was there that day had a lot of stories to tell and was very interesting. There were lots of artifacts from the town and the recreated court house was worth the look. It even has the old gallows broken down and along the far wall. It's worth 30 minutes!

Very knowledgeable and helpful people

Believed to be the oldest wooden courthouse in the United States, this is a nice museum that does not take long to go through. There is parking right behind the courthouse and Burial Hill is right up the street. The people working at the museum could not have been nicer and they were very helpful in directing us toward a specific stone on Burial Hill.

The museum was great. Interesting stuff on display. The man who was working the day I visited didn’t say a think to us. I was hoping for some explanation.

Had been looking forward to this

I like a good courthouse type museum and this one appeared especially interesting. As it was though it was shut. What is the point of having a visitor attraction if you don’t open it?

Quite Interesting

Located just below burial hill and very near the main street, this was an unexpected find. It had a very interesting docent, a range of exhibits, and access upstairs to the original court. It can be covered in about 30 minutes. Like with other attractions, take advantage of the free parking at the Grist Mill and walk throughout the town center.

Unexpected, worthwhile opportunity

Walking the streets of Plymouth, we saw a sign indicating "Free Admission" to tour the 1749 Court House on the Town Square. "Sure, why not!," We entered to find a fascinating step back in history with artifacts that were amazing. The hostess couldn't be more accommodating as we explored the exhibits. The upstairs courthouse was most fascinating, especially the display showing the building's construction. This is certainly worth visiting, especially if on a walking tour of the town.
