Small mountain that’s big enough to keep you busy for a day. Very clean lodge, with nice facilities and great mountain food. Lots of fire pit stations to warm up outside. Overall, a great mountains for beginner and intermediate skiers.

We are senior citizens and are intermediate skiers
,that being said Wachusett is the perfect mountain for us. We skied mid week,which is very enjoyable.Discount for seniors on the Lift Tickets .They sell 2 types of tickets . We opted for double session $75 per person . No snow at home but plenty of snow on mountain. You can bring your own lunch or purchase there. Staff very nice & helpful .

Overall we had a good experience. It's my son's almost first skiing experience and I was not sure if he will like it (and if he can catch up the lesson) thus I initially only bought the carpet ticket. He fell so many times that we didn't get onto the carpet and the time is running out. I went back to the customer desk and asked if we can move the session we bought to the next one. The lady at the counter smily accepted and switch the ticket for us immediately. When I went back to my son, he had overcame his fear and we got to go on the carpet and eventually to the hill (with an upgrade of the ticket) It was a great experience and we surely will come back! The staff, the facility, and the food, all are satisfying.

The lesson I paid for was abusive. None of instructors were excited to go out with me. They “hot potatoed” me to the Asian instructor, who despite everything I tried was difficult to understand. I was nice at first but then realized that the smiling was mistaken for agreement and the man wasn’t listening to me AT ALL. They wouldn’t listen to me to assess my skill level. Spent 25 minutes on the bunny slope proving to them I had had a few lessons previously. Just a waste. The lessons are for babysitting children. Send your kids if you want to hit the slopes solo. Not for adults seriously trying to improve. Avoid if you can. Big regret wasting the couple days I had in the area at this place.

signed up my two grandchildren for ski lesson and could not have been more pleased.the check in was very organized and the check in person was super nice(can't remember her name).each grand child had a different instructor as it was not very busy and the ratio was 1;1. what impressed me most was how the two instructors(Ron and Dave) were very involved in every run the kids made giving them support and great advice on how to make some nice turns.both dave and ron made these lessons a very learning and fun experience that both kids (ages 6 and 8)thoroughly enjoyed. a special shout out to two EXCELLENT instructors

The mountain did rectify our experience, but I still felt the need to share our interaction with the staff.
We went to one of their fall festivals earlier this month, as we usually do. It took over an hour to get to the lots, they had no staff or even police directing traffic down the street. Once we got in they had packed thousands of people into the event and it was a miserable experience.. we had driven over an hour to get there too.. It was a beautiful day too so we felt like we wasted our afternoon. A staff member inside the event said they had sold 4,000+ pre-sale and still sold tickets that day and they were completely overwhelmed.
Towards the end of the event, I tried to reasonably express our disappointment with the ticket office on the over-crowding and asked if we could come back the following weekend (since they were hosting the same event 2 weeks in a row) without paying the entry fee again. Not only did the girl at the desk yell at me for even insinuating that this would constitute giving me a refund, she got her manager who doubled down and called the staff "a bunch of liars who should've kept their mouths shut" when I mentioned the staff actually working inside the event felt it was overwhelmingly packed. I tried to say we were willing to come back the next weekend and spend our $ inside to which she said absolutely not and demanded we go back inside and "enjoy the last 40 minutes of the event", even though she was on her way out the door to go home early too.. which we didn't want to even try so we could to avoid the traffic jam that was probably looming once the event officially ended. On our way back to the car we decided that even though we loved coming here in the past, there was no way after that interaction with multiple employees of apparently high rank we'd come back. Can't imagine how the staffs treated if they get called liars to patrons either..
The mountain clearly had others that were as frustrated as us, since they had posted on their social media a few days later that they in fact WOULD offer refunds or free entry to people who felt they didn't get to enjoy and rectified the situation. I reached out and did receive a refund and am glad they actually seem to value their customers' opinions, cause it certainly didn't feel that way at first.

Please stop overcrowding all your events and ski days, not fun! Line mountain! Most of your visit here is waiting in lines!
For everything, apparently capacity laws don’t apply here, oh no service, too many people, I would say a major safety issue!

“LINEFEST” should be the name of this event; 1.5+ hours in line in our car to get to a parking spot and another 1.5+ hours standing in line to get on sky ride (which was great for the views of the hills and the autumn colors) leaving no time for any other activity so I can’t comment on that, except to say there was long lines everywhere including the restrooms. So if you enjoy long lines this is the event for you. I’m glad they had a successful event. Tip: plan to arrive 2 hrs before the event opens.

Went yesterday, total waste of time and money. The traffic on surrounding streets was stop and go. What should have taken about an hour took 3! Maybe because of the one barely teenager managing the entrance while an older coworker sat on the guardrail. We were then directed to turn left at row A when all the rows were numbered. Fortunately, we didn’t bother looking and just pulled into the first spot we saw. It turns out there were plenty of spaces, probably left by clever souls who left early. Once you pay $24 to get in, you realize that you will not be able to see any of the crafts for sale because there is not enough space for people to move, let alone access the tables. You also see hundreds standing in an endless line to ride the chairlift to the top (ish) of the mountain, the ride you paid extra for. Pro tip: there are many other places to find apples and views that are easier to access that are free! If you make it to Wachusset and feel like you have invested too much time to just leave, you can buy apples and rather delicious apple products outside the gate without paying admission. YOU ARE MISSING NOTHING INSIDE

We just went to the summer food truck festival and it was such a money grab. No idea why they charge at the door. You don’t get anything except free use of their bathroom. There was about 12 food trucks and each one will take an hour or more since the lines are so long. The only entertainment was one guy singing with his guitar. Not enough tables so people are forced to sit on grass under hot sun. They mentioned lawn games but there was only one bean bag toss. That’s all it was. Overpriced food trucks with small portion and bland flavors. Overpriced vendors and $8 beers. No entertainment for kids. Kids are seriously running up and down the hill and some were sleeping under the sun. $12 dollars per sausage and $10 for bite sized pierogi which seemed microwaved from a grocery store. Such a waste of time and money. No wonder why there is no re entry. They know that once you’re in, they have you trapped so you have to spend money just to justify paying to enter there. The event was from 11am-5pm, we got there at 11:30 and people were already walking out. Huge red flag!

Hi! I know it’s short notice but we just heard about this ski resort and we’re thinking of coming for New Year’s Eve. Does anyone know how crowded it gets on NYE? I often ski at mountain creek in NJ on NYE and always find it to be one of the less-crowded days, so I wasn’t sure if this mountain would be the same. Thank you!

I was there last year for New Year's and it wasn't horribly crowded. Remember to bring your own food and drink as the offerings there are disgustingly overpriced.
