The answer is 6A is by far a more scenic route, mainly because the road covers the entire north shore. 28 goes more interior section of the Cape a large portion is through Hyannis with an airport and shopping mall isn’t much to see. The section of 28 from Falmouth to Hyannis is more of a country road with a fair amount of shopping however it could be anywhere is New England. The North shore 6A is a reminder of old New England with its slower speed limit and winding road bordered by mostly +200 year old homes and shops. In fact some of the townships on north shore have strict building and remodeling codes including colors of paint and types of windows on homes in order to preserve the look of Cape Cod.

Route 28 is more scenic. 6A is a highway with trees on both sides. No views.

We were there in October which is the off-season so there were very few cars. We spent a few hours and didn't have many stops because many of the shops and restaurants were closed for the season.

The Sandwich Line travels along route 6A through historical downtown Sandwich and route 28 to Hyannis. Passengers may board the Sandwich Line at any of the scheduled bus stops or they may flag the bus down anywhere along the bus route.
