Loved the scenic views from the Visitors Center. I learned so much from the visuals. I stayed a long time just to get a feel for Cape Cod and its wonderful history.

We have been in the Cape Cod Visitor Center, during the summer season and lately "off season"! This center is very interesting for excellent historical facts, video's also shown, how and when the canal was done, etc. The information is very nice, and fascinating. During the season, we usually stop by and use the picnic tables and start our bicycle ride by the canal, very pleasant interesting sights, various ships passing thru the canal!Excellent for picture taking, plenty parking all around!

you have been in traffic for a few hours and have a few more ahead of you. Hit this visitors center, stretch your legs, get great info on the canal and its history for all ages, walk the jetty a bit and the dog. Now when you go over the canal, you will know so much more about it and appreciate it.

The Visitor's Center is easily accessible and a great way to orient yourself to the Cape if you haven't traveled there before. I didn't know about the free afternoon tour.
For what it's worth, the Cape is a terrific place to visit off-season. Fewer cars and people make for a relaxing time. Some places offer off-season rates. Nearly all the marvelous opportunities are still there -- the Sandwich Heritage Museum and its lovely car collection, the National Seashore, many great art galleries, Lieutenant Island, Provincetown, and much more.

We love to visit the Cape Cod Canal in Sandwich. The Visitor Center is very informative. The grounds and trails are well maintained. For runners, walkers, bikers you are alongside the canal. It is an quick walk to the jetty and open ocean for more exploring of sand and salt water. No charge for a facility maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers. There are restaurants closeby or ice cream for dessert. This is an off-season must!

Free admission, Free Parking, and Free Tour at 2pm. Nomi was our guide and she was very enthusiastic, she was excellent. She explained how and why the canal was built. The tour is only 20 minutes but worthwhile. They also have a 15 minute movie playing. There is a boat and a play area for kids.

This is a very nice Visitor Center. Staff is very friendly and eager to answer any questions. Walk right along the Waterway and watch the people fishing and the boats go by. This is practically next to Seafood Sams, which is a good place to enjoy fresh seafood.

This is a great place to go with company. Learn about the making of the canal. The engineering, the laborers. I learn something new every time I go, they have evening activities in the summer. There’s a boat in side to explore.. a movie theatre, and many other hands on activities! They are perched on the canal.. so beautiful view. There is plenty of parking , the staff are great!
