Our first time back in 2 years not a good experience. Camped Aug 10-13. For 3 nights heard nothing but yelling and arguing from a nearby site. Went on till well past quiet hour. Park rangers dont drive through to check on things or to make their presence known. I think I saw them once the entire time we were there. In another section of the campground there was an incident where the state police had to get involved.
Felt very uneasy at night and didnt even feel safe enough to walk alone to restrooms.
No hot water in the shower and bathrooms were not cleaned often enough for the amount of people using them. With a few exceptions, campsites are very close to each other with no privacy. If you do find yourself wanting to camp here, pick a site in loop C. No hookups but so much quieter and sites are nice.
We will not be back. For another 30 minute ride, we will go to the Cape.

Can't have visitors they never told me that so sad never went camping where people couldn't visit for a fee

There are many great state parks and camping areas in Massachusetts that are state road but this is not one of them. The campsites are so close together that even in this age of Covid, you are still too close to the people next to you. In addition, any noise or generator use disrupts the peace and quiet for your entire area. In addition, comfort stations have been closed which require campers to walk much further to use the facilities. I agree with other TripAdvisor reviewers who have stated that people who are using the park for day use, come into the campground area and use those facilities as well. There are much, much better state run campgrounds such as Myles Standish or Harold Parker.

Well maintained campground. We went with two small kids and it was nice to be able to walk straight from our site to a little pond and some trails. However--apparently this is a popular mountain biking spot, and several people rode not only down the road though the campground, but directly through campsites, even while we were visibly present in ours.

First the bad. The day use part of the park has easy access to the campground. I felt uneasy at times with all the non-campers walking and biking through the campground even after dark. Now for the good. It's a very nice campground with sites that are not on top of each other. They are one of the few state parks in Mass that offer electric and water hookups. Beautiful lake and woods. Has a playground for the kids, but is in the day use area of the park. Staff is super friendly and I noticed that they do drive through often to check on everything.

Great area to kick back and relax by a fire...The Park rangers are excellent and present...
The grounds are well kept and clean. The woods, trails and lakes are beautiful inspiration for painting and drawing. We feel right at home here.

We went camping for 4 days, and were impressed at how nice the campground was after it reopen Fall 2018. The sites were spacious n spread out. The park was clean, well maintained, with plenty of trails for hiking, biking, 6 lakes/ponds, fishing, a beach, public restrooms. We have used the park before this trip n will definitely return.

Being new after a ten year hiatus, this park will become a must visit location. Close enough to most of the attractions but still far enough away to be a great natural park. Definitely away from the maddening crowds. Great park.

There are some great trails here but the park could use a better marking system. The Map is not very informative in terms of trail difficulty elevation changes, etc. And in the woods they rely on painted symbols on bark to guide you. But, it's not so big that you'd be in peril if you get lost. No boat launches anywhere, so fishing from a canoe or row boat isn't as easy as it should be. Motorized boats (even electric) are not allowed. While I appreciate the serenity a no gas motors policy provides, I'd like to see them update that policy to this century and amend it to allow electric motors. I've never used their campsites but have heard good things about them. There is no entrance fee.

This is a beautiful property, mostly forested with lots of water as well. They recently re-opened sections to camping. There are great hiking, kayaking/ canoeing fishing opportunities at Massasoit. with potential to be a gem of a destination.

Is there adequate depth adult areas for swimming? Or is too roped off like a 'kiddies pond' as is Watsons Pond?

There may be areas at the park where the water is deeper but the area that we have gone is roped off and only extends about 50 or 60 yards from the shore.
