I debated on if I should write this review…. I was REALLY looking forward to a relaxing day. My day was canceled 3x due to snow- no one’s fault of course. So when I finally was able to make the day I was thrilled.
I had a package that included a facial, a massage, lunch and all the bliss rooms.
As a business owner myself, I may pay attention to things others may not.
The front desk staff was nice. I found the facility to be welcoming except I think having to go outside, in your robe to go from treatment to treatment is a little odd, especially being in New England- but I understand that’s how the layout of the place is.
I started my day with a facial- this was hands down the worst possible facial I ever had in my life! All she did was steam me 90% of the facial. NO facial massage or scalp massage, she did rub my hands and added hot mitts. My face looked exactly the same as it did when I left. I would never return for a facial or recommend anyone waste their time or money. Truly the worst facial I’ve ever had and I’ve had many.
I had a massage- before starting the massage therapist says “I will be doing a myofacial massage, the pressure is light, you may not feel me but trust me I’ll be there doing your massage. Some clients think I’m not there but it is great for your muscles.”
First off, shouldn’t the client be asked what kind of massage they want? I thought oh well it can’t be any worse than the facial. She wasn’t kidding when she said light touch, a 10 yr old would have applied more pressure. I will never go back or recommend release for a massage.
I had lunch- that was pretty good. I do find it weird to be eating in a cafe in your robe while the cafe is open to the public.
Now the rooms- the steam room was super steamy, like you can barely see walking in, I was ok with that. What I wasn’t ok with is they don’t clean any of the granite seats in between people going in and out. 🦠
The salt room I enjoyed!
The sun sauna is a little weird, it’s just bright lights and a very uncomfortable bench to lay on. I wish they had the same chairs they had in the salt room.
The hot tub was nice and the fireplace is a nice touch!
Even though the rooms were an ok experience- I won’t be back.
The place itself is nice. I saw the yoga and fitness rooms which both looked great.
When I left I started looking at reviews and stubbled upon reviews from employees on indeed. Needless to say they were horrible reviews on how they are treated and by the experience I had, I cannot say I’m surprised they did not put their all into their services. It seems they tend to hire people out of school with no experience.
I understand everyone starts somewhere but not everyone is motivated or cares about their work.

This is a great place to go and unwind weather with a group of friends or with the one you love . Chase the winter blues away with the sun room and relax in the eucalyptus and salt room. You will truly be glad you came hear and you will feel like you went on a mini vacation when you leave

We received a couples massage gift card. I have never had a massage, so I cannot compare it to others. I found the staff very helpful and polite. Upon arrival you receive sandals and a locker key. Inside the locker you receive a robe and towel. You then proceed into a relax room which has access to a steam room, sauna, eyculyptus sauna, and year round outdoor pool. We were pressed for time so I could not enjoy a sauna. We were given a bucket of warm water to soak our feet. We then proceeded to a room that was relaxing. I received a deep tissue massage my head, my neck, arms, fingers, legs, feet, and back were massaged for one hour. I found it very relaxing. There was muscles I felt were render. The place was very clean. I would definitely go back. Once again I cannot compare it to another massage spa.

I am a long time visitor to Release and would recommend that you check them out. The staff is kind at the front desk and very accommodating. Today's experience was beyond subpar for me. My friend and I each had a massage. Hers was fantastic, but mine was with someone who I had never used before. Sam, my therapist gave an excellent deep tissue massage, but the entire hour was ruined by his excessive use of draping during the treatment. It's common to have, when laying face down, a sheet draped just below the hips. This enables the therapist to do their job and reach all parts of the back. During my massage I was draped well above my lumbar spine, near the start of my ribcage. Each time I was rubbed, I was also being rubbed by the draping sheet or being lightly brushed by the sheet in such a repetitive manner that it made me itch. I understand trying to preserve the modesty of your clientele but this was insane. I should have just come fully clothed. When laying face up, the drape actually started chaffing my armpits and my legs were so poorly draped that the therapist missed a good 25% of what should have been massaged. The icing on the cake was at the end when Sam literally rubbed the sheet up and down my back (probably to remove oil, but at this point I wanted to jump out of my skin). I would have said something to the front desk staff but I was with my friend and didn't want to put a damper on our day out. I will not ever use this therapist again and I am very disappointed I had to pay for such a bizarrely subpar treatment.

I have mixed reviews of this place. My massage with Wayne was amazing. I felt better for days after. The "bliss room" was okay. And the cafe was definitely mediocre. I got the vegetable panini, and the avocado and spinach smelled like they were ready for the compost pile. Not fresh at all. In some ways, this was a very overpriced massage. Having the space to hang out and relax with the others I was with was great, but other than that, it was really just good for the massage.

My boyfriend gave me a gift card for $153, good for 3 reflexology massages. I could not book through mind/body because you don't accept gift cards as online payments. I mentioned the 3-visit rate when I booked, checked in, and checked out, but was ignored and charged $75 for one. When I asked again about the rate for 3 reflexology massages the woman (who seemed to be a manager) checked my gift card balance and simply said "you've got $78, good for one more." While my massage was good and Bliss was enjoyable (though a buffer room for the eucalyptus steam room would have been a good idea...my enjoyment was interrupted by 2 women repeatedly coming in and out) I will not be returning once my gift card is used because your staff completely ignored every word I said, and I feel ripped off.

I visited Release for the first time last week. The facility is amazing and the staff were all super friendly and helpful!
I highly recommend.

Very disappointed in this place. On my last few visits I have not had the best experience. On my last visit to the Bliss area I booked a private hot sauna. At my slotted time I found it occupied. Hoping the person would be out soon I used the other amenities. I was surprised at this visit that they only give you one towel and they are not pleased if you ask for additional. Anyway much after my scheduled sauna time a person emerges and it is an off duty staff who has taken no regard for using my scheduled time. She is dripping wet in perspiration. No one cleans the sauna after her use and I certainly do not want to go in now to sit in her body sweat! The facility is starting to show wear and tear. The outdoor hot tub had debris floating in it so that was not very appealing. The place is generally crowded and not very easy to find serenity with route 9 traffic noise quite prevalent. The bolsters in the yoga area are beginning to bear sweat stains and the blankets have a peculiar odor. Also be advised if you purchase a 10 pack of visits they have an expiration date that you won’t find anywhere on the website.
Only thing I have to say positive is Sharan is an awesome yoga instructor. I will miss her as I will not be returning!

As I shared with you when we communicated about this issue, at Release we care deeply about our community and strive to serve each member of our community with compassion, respect and integrity. In order to do so, we established policies that allow maximum flexibility and are at a minimum, in line with industry standards. We must adhere to these policies to be respectful and fair to all members of our community. If we deviate from them, decisions becomes personal and biased. I have been a member at Release for many months. Release is definitely not a traditional wellness, yoga, spa, or fitness center. Part of this is because it is all of the above (and a café/restaurant). Another reason is because the experience is easily a higher level. I started taking yoga/fitness classes here purely because of the central location when I am on the road, the on-site shower and in-house towels (so I could leave and go to meetings depending on my day), and the facility's cleanliness. At Release, you can do yoga or fitness classes in facilities that are top notch. The yoga sanctuary is easily the best space for yoga in the area. You can also relax in the Bliss area, which includes a salt room, a Eucalyptus spa, a sun spa, a solo sun spa (for privacy), a whirlpool, and a general relaxation space. Of course, you can get massage or other spa treatments as well as food at the café. I personally am most impressed with Linda, the owner, and the staff. When I have made suggestions, Linda runs to implement them. Like, that minute. It is clear she has invested a lot financially and personally to make Release successful. It is hard to include everything about Release here, but I do think that if you are interested in a higher level of yoga or to pamper yourself, Release is for you. Big shout outs to the yoga/fitness staff, including Christina, Chelsea, Cindy, Sharan, Donne, & Michelle (all whom I mention because I have had many classes with each of them, but I have never had a bad instructor and I always feel like I have grown with their direction.)
