We live almost an hour away and we prefer to sit far away from other people during the pandemic, so I like to reserve our seats ahead of time and pay for the tickets online.
As I’ve told them several times, the website doesn’t work properly when you try to place a ticket order. You choose the movie, date and time. Then a new page opens and you have to choose the same info (all three things!) again. Next, the third page finally states the name of the movie, rating, run time, and date. You then have to choose the time again (for the third time!).
The last two times that we tried to reserve tickets for secret cinema, our online orders would not go through. I called and (both days) they said they were having problems with the website.
When we couldn’t get our online orders to go through on May 6, I called and explained the situation. The first time, I got an error message saying that the order was not completed. When I tried a second time, the seats we wanted were blocked, from my first (uncompleted) order. The employee said they should be released in 15 minutes but to call back if I had a problem and the manager would help him take my info over the phone and put them on hold for me.
I tried again 1/2 hour later after the seats were released and got the same error message that the order didn’t go through. I called back and a different employee said they couldn’t take any info over the phone and wouldn’t hold any seats and I would just have to come pay in person.
There’s no way I’m driving an hour only to find out that the seats that I want are sold and I have to sit somewhere too close to other people, where we aren’t comfortable. I asked for a manager but after holding for a while, I finally gave up and hung up. We drove to Toledo and saw a movie instead – only a couple other people in the theater and my order went through on the first try.
They’ve been telling me for years that they’re going to accept ApplePay soon and the last time we were there they still weren’t doing it (in person) and they don’t accept it online either.

Love this theater. Easy parking. Good food and drinks to take in to watch your favorite movie. Seats are comfortable and spacious.

I’ve attended their recent Oscar Gala and a secret cinema + dinner event, with a group of 3 for each.
The Oscars event had very limited info on the Maple Theatre’s own website (see photo which says SYNOPSIS) and the same info was in the email they sent to advertise it. I just happened to see it listed online elsewhere (eventbrite?) and there was MUCH more detail (see other photos) - we wouldn’t have even known to arrive early for the swag bags if I hadn’t seen that!
We couldn’t believe the poor food arrangement for the Oscar event. The tables were set up so only a single line of people could go through at once, resulting in a long line running through the restaurant. Honestly – had they never been through a buffet line before? You pull the tables away from the wall so twice as many people can go through the line at once, utilizing each side of the table… (There was enough room for it.). Some utensils for retrieving food were sitting in the actual food containers (with handles resting on the food) when we went through the line – so gross! You need to supply appropriate utensils for grasping whatever the items are, with a small plate or bowl in front where the utensils can rest between use.
For secret cinema and dinner, we were originally told to let them know ahead of time what food we wanted, from their “old menu”. None of us had eaten at the café before so we had no idea what the “old menu” choices might be and no info was provided. I had to email them three times in a week to request the menu... The first time they said we would have it in a few days. I asked again about 5 days later and was told we would have it “tomorrow”. I asked again 2 days before the event and I believe we finally received it just one day prior to the event. It wasn’t complicated: a few salads, sandwiches, chicken strips and several sides. We enjoyed the food very much but getting that menu together shouldn’t have taken a long time...
Even though we had pre-registered for secret cinema & dinner they were TOTALLY unprepared for how to charge us for the event - we each wanted to pay separately, which really shouldn’t be that confusing... When we ordered our food in the cafe, there was more confusion. They asked us what size soup we wanted (they should have known what was included) and we received different size drink cups...
We enjoyed the events and would all return for the same type of thing again but we wish they had a good manager in charge to get things more organized!

Theatre is still great. Attached restaurant is not good. This used to be a nice place for apps n drinks before the movie but now it is more like fast food with no atmosphere

We enjoy the ease and convenience of The Maple Theaters. There is plenty of parking and they make purchasing the tickets a breeze. The popcorn is yummy too. The staff is very polite and always helpful. The seats are comfortable as well as the theater is clean. It’s a gem.

If you like smaller theaters with assigned seats and a cool restaurant attached. Try the Maple Theater!

The food itself was decent, a 3 star elevated to 4 considerning it is in a movie theater (low bar). The service, however, was very poor. They couldn't get the drink order right. We went we some friends and the bills kept getting jumbled up. 4 times the waitress tried to straighten it out, and 4 times she missed. Finally, we just called it close enough, paid and left.

Popcorn popped in Olive Oil. Wow. Movies that are top rated but not being shown in the typical corporate-owned theaters. Going back soon to see "Stan & Ollie". AND, there is a restaurant inside the theater. I didn't eat there, so I can't say how the food is, but it seems to have a good vibe.

We can start out with dinner, coffee and then take in a movie! Last week we ordered dinner and drinks from our VIP seating! Love this service! Will definitely be back!
