The course was beautiful and the surrounding nature was spectacular. Staff was welcoming and helpful. No one rushed us around our 18 holes and the pace was so relaxing and fun.
We had lunch on the deck on the Maple River after our round and watched ducks and birds and the lovely scenery as we enjoyed our meal. Love this place and look forward to more time at Hidden River!

We visited for our 50th a anniversary dinner. We had a party of 18 people including 3 young kids. Our reservations were for 6pm and we made them a week ahead.
When we arrived we noticed that o e of the smaller dining room was set up for a large party. But not ours. We were seated and it took awhile before our waitress arrived to take drink orders, when she did arrive she let us know that they didnt have any specials for the night and they were out of mussels. When she took our orders/she an ounced 1/2 way through that they were out of ribs. (Which is supposed to be their premier dish) One of the group ordered Blue Moon beer, yes we have that, then no sorry, we dont. We ordered appetizers which came out fairly quickly. Then waited over 45 for dinner to come out. I had to ask the manager if we could please have our salads. Then we waited another 30/45 minutes for the main courses...I wouldn't recommend this restaurant simply because they need to work on service. Management seemed unconcerned (they did discount our meals but by the time we left at 9:00pm I was ready to pay for the drinks, tip the waitress (the fiasco wasn't entirely her fault) and leave. Wont be going back any time soon. They needed more wait staff, a couple of busboys (we pretty much bussed our own table) and a manager who comes out from behind the bar and checks what's going on in the dining room. If I could I would rate it -1

Everyone enjoyed their lunch. Portions for lunch are so generous that half my chicken salad with cherries and pecans plus other items came home with me. For those of us facing the outdoors, we had a lovely view while we ate. It wasn't at all crowded at lunchtime on a weekday.

Friendly, well-maintained course.... very friendly tee placements for the women as well (yes, she beat me actual on front nine!). Welcoming and told a few times how much they appreciated us playing today... not a busy day and they still had a bev cart on course - MUCH APPRECIATED as it was hot and muggy day.
We'll be back... a good value for greens fee... will likely do the golf and dinner combo next time... and soon.

Don't let to many people know about this hidden gem! What an awesome course! Fairways and greens in perfect shape! Greens true to there read
Some of the best golf staff I have personally come across. This was a treat getting to play this course! You can see and feel the passion and pride that each and every worker takes in there job at the course! We can't wait to come back! This was the talk all last week about how we have to get back up there this summer! I wish I lived closer and could be a member! A true hidden gem in the great golf state of Michigan!!

Hidden River is one of our favorite golf courses when we vacation at Burt Lake every summer. The course is always is excellent shape and offers some great up north type scenery along with some challenging golf. It is not unusual to spot wildlife around. A pair of SandHill Cranes took up residence near one of the fairways and we have also had to wait to tee off for a doe as she bounded across the fairway in front of us. The staff is most helpful and friendly and the restaurant offers up some very nice dinners following a great round of play.

The one thing that stood out the most for me was the pride in which the staff had for their golf course. I got the feeling that they took ownership of their duties on their course, and were genuinely excited to share it with us, from the first "welcome" at the bag drop to the final goodbye on the way out. I cannot say the same for the other assembly-line type atmosphere courses in the area that want to get you on and off as quick as possible. Fairways and greens, perfect and well groomed as is the expectation for that part of the state. Plenty of tees to choose from so we could have made it as challenging as we wanted. Front nine was a little more open and back nine features some nice elevation changes. We were lucky enough to a few deer and wild turkeys. If you're up north, i highly recommend adding this course to your itinerary!

The course is excellent and the pro shop staff are exceptional. We played 18 holes and followed the round with dinner. We will definitely be repeat customers.

Beautiful course with challenging holes set off the main drag. Occasionally you will see a deer. In the fall, the leaves are full of color. There are holes with water, strategically placed sand traps, rolling greens and false fronts. Long par 5s. Some holes have lots of roll but need to stay in fairway. Remember, your ball always rolls to the water. Front 9 a little more forgiving than the back 9, if you like golf no matter what level you are you will enjoy the beauty and quiet of this course.
