Came here on a Tuesday wasn't busy. Cost us $ 20.00 a person for our own walking tour!! The inside is mainly set up for weddings, but there are some cool display cases to look at. The grounds are pretty with flowers all over. The dragon staute is awesome! In all honesty I really don't think it was worth the money.

Phenomenal! A 1918 restored Castle that originally housed a working farm. Over time it was a concert venue in the ‘70s/early 80’s. After falling into disrepair the current owner (Linda) restored it to its original splendor. One power turned into a concert venue for the many rock bands in the 70’s. Recommend taking the tram tour to get an overview. The follow the tour guide inside to see the numerous venues and small museums. There is even an enchanted garden and large miniature railroad. Currently it also operates as wedding venues. The property is so large it can accommodate 14 weddings in a 4 day period!

Took the self guided tour. Disappointed. If I would have known there would be multiple events taking place around the castle we would have spent the extra money and had the guided tour. We were not sure if we could enter those areas and felt like we were intruding. Felt like we missed a lot of information and never was able to see the second floor.

This was a hidden gem. My 8 year grandson didn't want to go, but really liked doing the scavenger hunt. My family enjoyed the history of the place. I liked the wedding cake toppers and the thrones. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. I am glad that the castle was remodeled. so people can enjoy it.

Worth the visit. We did the self guided tour, went around taking our time and learning about the different “lives” of the farms though the last decades.
Reserve 90-120 min for the visit and make sure to check the site for specific hours in the day of your visit since they close early when there are weddings planned for the afternoon/evening.

An absolute must but take the guided tour, well worth the extra $5. Also check schedule before you go. It is a wedding venue, so might be closed to the public at times.

We were visiting from Florida and time share had on their list of things to do. We are so happy we went. The self guided tour was great and gave lots of information about the history. The owners have done a great job restoring. It is now a wedding venue. Our friends that came live in Michigan and will be back to see the gardens when they’re in full bloom. We loved it.

This is a beautiful place, but unfortunately, we arrived late on a Saturday afternoon and the grounds were only open for one more hour due to a wedding that was taking place. It seems that this is a great wedding venue, but not a very good tourist spot if you happen upon it on a wedding day.

Castle Farms is a wedding venue in Northern Michigan. It was originally a farm and more recently served as a concert venue for the area apparently. As guided tours were not an option on the day of our visit, we paid $10 each for a self- guided tour and were handed a 4 page flyer with brief descriptions of the various areas within the facility. After a short video presentation showcasing the current owner, Linda Mueller’s experience and vision, we were free to tour the facility. This quickly turned out to be a big disappointment. After about 20 minutes walking around, it was obviously not at all what we had hoped it might be and so we left. In all fairness, we did choose to forego the 2 ounce sample of wine offered to us at the bar. Otherwise we found our visit pretty much to be a waste of $20. To be honest, I found the place to be rather cheesy overall. While the extensive collection of UK Royalty commemorables and wedding cake toppers might hold a certain appeal for some, they did nothing for us. This place is at best a historic farm with some stone spires added, that was reconfigured to be a wedding venue and not a true castle. In no way is it tourist attraction and it should not be marketed as such.

Since July is peak season for Castle Farms, I would be very surprised if it were mot. Go to the Castle Farms web site to research special days throughout the summer, as well as the fee for unguided vs. guided tours. Castle Farms is well worth the visit.

What time of year? The side garden is beautiful. The little round room across from the trains would be unique - you stand in the middle and whisper and can be heard anywhere in the room...
It is a beautiful place with lots of little places to steal away and pop the question. Try contacting someone there to better help you set up the ideal, once in a life time experience!

Will Castle Farms have the trams running on Sept. 5?. We have guests coming from N. D. & they would love to visit the grounds and the tram would make it easier for an elderly person.

Castle Farms is a beautiful location for any type of photos: family shots, wedding photographs, high school senior pictures, etc. We often have photographers on grounds taking pictures to capture those special moments in people’s lives. People visiting the Castle for self-guided and/or guided historical tours are also welcome (and encouraged!) to take as many photos as they like. For those interested in taking photographs at the Castle (professional or personal), simply purchase self-guided tour tickets at the Castle’s Welcome Center. This enables you to access the grounds, gardens, and historic buildings, all of which offer spectacular settings for you to gain the perfect shot.
