One of Africa's best secrets! Stayed at Imfihlo lodge. Loved absolutely everything. Birding is top notch with Green and Pink Throated Twinspots, Thick billed Cuckoo and 185 other spp on a winter list. Walking, cycling, drives, beautiful views. All staff were as always very friendly and helpful. Lodge just stunning.
Perfect spot for a quiet getaway.
Can't wait to go back.

This time, I booked a campsite for family fishing. Everything was lovely until the site manager came through. He actually said that we "looked like" we were going to "make plenty of noise." Next thing, he showed up at our site with his dogs who ran through our campsite, ate our fishing bait, and were in our camp kitchen before I could stop them. Several of us had to shout at him to get his dogs. There were only two but they seemed to be everywhere.
He took them and left. The dogs returned without him. After chasing them away twice, I called our contact to complain. The manager then showed up at the campsite AGAIN, livid that I had made a complaint. He was extremely disrespectful, took pictures of us in our PAJAMAS at the campsite.
He and his dogs are totally out of control. We are all dog lovers. But no dogs are allowed in the game park... He should not have let his dogs run around. He said they are "highly trained." And why did he keep cropping up at our site uninvited??
Toilet paper was not refilled all weekend, but the campsite is nice. It's quite a hike to the river, not "overlooking" it as stated on the website.

We spent 3 nights in Liphiva. A lovely well equipped cottage on the bank of a little river. It has a nice deck outside to sit on and watch the river and a braai below. A small shared pool with one other cottage, with a couple of sun loungers.
I preferred Mbuluzi to Hlane down the road. It has a much nicer, better managed feel. We didn't like the multitude of fences sectioning up Hlane.

Nous avons passé 2 jours à Mbuluzi game reverse au mois d'octobre 2019.
L'acceuil est chaleureux, bienveillant.
C'est une réserve où l'on peut se promener à pieds. Plusieurs sentiers sont balisés, une carte est donné lors du check in.
Notre avons dormi dans un liphiva bush lodge. Il est équipé d'un lit double et d'un lit simple. L'établissement avait rajouté un lit d'appoint confortable pour notre deuxième enfant. La piscine est superbe. La rivière passe juste en bas du lodge. Nous avons aperçu des nyalas autour de notre lodge plusieurs fois par jour ainsi que quelques impalas et de superbes oiseaux.
On se sent vraiment immergé dans la nature.
Nous en retiendrons un très bon souvenir.

Mbuluzi Game Reserve was one of our favorite during our South Africain and Swaziland trip, a wonderful "nature" stage. We stayed 2 nights at the Liphiva Lodge which is very beautiful, well-equipped, confortable and clean. The terrasse over the river is just magic, we have seen lots of nyalas and a giraffe while staying there.
There a many paths that you can take for a walk (or by bike) on both sides of the reserve where you will meet impalas, zebras, warthog, giraffes...
Last but not least, the staff is very nice and friendly, we were warmly welcomed and they gave us some good tips to enjoy our stay there.
A real special place I recommande you to visit !

Mbuluzi was the last stop on our 10 day overlanding trip through Swaziland and what a place to end off, we just loved the camp site with its outdoor showers. You can hike through the park as there are no dangerous animals or you can drive.

I spent a couple of days here, which is a very lovely and comfortable place to stay with a very nice surroundings and nice gave view. However, bed bugs are deadly!

We are very happy to hear that you found Mbuluzi to be a lovely and comfortable place.
I suspect that you have ended up with some unexplained bites after your stay here.
It would be highly unusual to have been bitten by bed bugs here.
The bush here however, does have a fair amount of pepper ticks. They are unfortunate a reality when visiting a wildlife rich area.
Please feel free to contact us if you would like advice on how to deal with pepper ticks before your next visit to the bush somewhere.
Is there some other aspect of the game reserve that you found to be dangerous?

Whilst the main 3 parks in the country are well known, this little gem is a paradise for animals and we saw more girraffe there than anywhere else! There are so many animals that you don't really miss the 'big 5'! Be warned, the area across the road is very tricky driving and they dont have guides but Swazi Trails would take you in a 4 by 4. The road really is petty treacherous, but well worth it!

Absolutely loved the 12 days we were there.
Accommodation was fantastic in amazing surroundings.
Wildlife was just all around us.
Sat hours by the river watching the world go by.
The married employees who looked after our lodge were out of this world.
So helpful and polite and made us feel very welcome.
One of the best holidays of my life!!!!

We camped at Mbuluzi recently. The surrounding are pretty and the camp is clean. Sadly, though there is hardly any game. A few Giraffe grace the park but the 1700 hectares of beautiful bush has very little else. It should really be called a 'Nature Reserve'. Although it's pretty, if you want to spot game, this isn't your place.

Hi,
We are hoping to book for early 2021 but need to know what the roads are like as we will not have a 4X4 but just a normal saloon car. I read a review that the roads on the reserve are pretty bad and just need to know how bad.

We went there in the wet season, but with a 4x4, although I don't recall ever engaging 4x4. Reasonable ground clearance will be more important.

We are within a historic malaria area. But it is extremely rare from this area.
Our staff and most visitors so not take any prophylaxis.
You are always advised to consult a travel doctor and take their advice.
