Roof top restaurant has changed owners several times. You might call and ask. It changed again after our last visit.

When we were there last month we asked about an observation deck. They told us it was not currently open because it was being renovated.

No, there was no access to that restaurant when we stayed

I worked in the RenCen for a couple years. The top two floors, one a restaurant, one a lounge, revolved when I visited and dined there in the 1980s. It took exactly one hour for it to make a 360-degree revolution. Those two levels were closed for many years, then was re-opened as Coach Insignia for a number of years including when I worked at the RenCen between 2012 - 2014. I spoke to the manager about the movement. When they took over the space they hoped to re-activate the revolving floor. What they found was that the gears, motor and chain mechanism was badly damaged, worn, and rusted from the lack of use and maintenance. It was going to cost a fortune to repair it. The repairs would have created a huge delay in opening the space and required re-engineering for modifications and space renovations needed. The mechanism was therefore removed and the floor fixed into place for safety reasons. As others have mentioned Coach Insignia closed a few years ago.

It's fine but the lounge may not be open if you have privileges. Have fun and check out Greektown, worth the walk, might want to cab it at night.
