I'm sure this center has lots of historic detail etc but when the security guard on the front desk is blatantly rude and thinks he is higher than other ethnic minorities, there is a problem with the recruitment from the center. Having visited the camps in Poland with no issues of their staff manners, I don't think I'm missing much hsving decided I won't provide any funding from my entrance fee towards this place or their staff job's.

Unfortunately we only had about 45 minutes - definitely not enough time, but staff were very helpful in their recommendations of what to see. Plan for at least 2 hours here. Exhibits were fantastic - very informative and moving. Will try to go back when visiting the area again. Highly recommend.

This is a facility that not only teaches the Holocaust but also the roots of the Jewish faith and early examples of anti-semitism. The staff are friendly, the entry fee is reasonable, and there is almost always a temporary exhibit which focuses on a specific element. You really feel like every element of the Holocaust is covered with artifacts, primary sources, and mood. This is a must visit for teachers in the area as they tend to be very generous with field trips. Make sure you get to speak with a survivor as their testimony adds so much more power.

This is a very somber place that everyone should see. You can’t leave without a tear in your eye. Between timelines and pictures and movies of people real life experiences it was an an amazing morning visit. Went at 9:30 on Sunday morning so there were no crowds which is great for a Covid visit. I can’t recommend this museum enough.

It is tough to think that groups of people can hate one another so much. Learn what happed to millions of Jews

I've wanted to visit this museum and I finally made a point to do it this week. My friends and I went on the tour with the docent and she provided many interesting details. Even though we know it all happened, it is appalling to know that humans were treated this way. It is an atrocity that cannot be forgotten. I have also visited the hideaway used by Anne Frank and her family in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Like this, that was truly a very humbling experience. This Holocaust Museum is definitely worth a visit.

I had an opportunity to visit the Holocaust Museum in August. I, of course, had read about this horrific tragedy, but it was enlightening, not only to tour the museum, but I had an opportunity to listen to Michael Weiss, a survivor. Moreover, I also purchased his book.

I went as a chaperone with my daughter's 7th grade. It is an eye-opening experience. I definitely want to go back when I have more time and the ability to really look around and read. It was really neat that they had an actual Holocaust survivor there to talk to the kids, tell them her story, and answer questions. Definitely worth a 2nd visit!

When his teacher contacted me to chaperone my son's 8th grade field trip to the center, I of course said yes. So many children these days just don't understand and are so far removed from the subject of WWII (as their great grandparents have passed) that I felt it important to share this visit and my memories from my grandparents with him. I wanted for him to feel the reality of something that seemed so foreign and impossible to him.

We had a guided tour and got the chance to hear a gentleman who hid in France as a child during the war. Both were very informational, but I would have liked to have had some free time with my son in order to go deeper into the subject matter and feelings this trip should have invoked. The center was too nice, too "clean" for the subject matter. There was information, yes. Our tour guide had dates and number, but at no point did I feel like the children were forced to face the emotional aspects of this visit. I was disappointed they didn't let them go into the mock up rail car that other visitors could because they didn't want the kids to feel bad. Now I understand this was a school trip, but isn't that why the exhibit was there? To invoke a feeling of reality and sadness, to empathizes. To help them truly understand what it was like?

The exhibits were all extremely "clean." They were beautifully done, but lacking a lot of the emotional aspect I thought would be there. There were no piles of shoes, just numbers on a wall. Children need to see, to fell the shear volume of the lives lost, to feel the human aspect, not just a wall listing countries and number killed. It needs to be more tangible to younger visitors to convey the depths of this horrific time period. I was expecting to have a few kids cry or to have heartfelt discussions on the bus back, but sadly they were unfazed by the trip.

As an older adult, I appreciated the center but for children, personally, I wished they hadn't tied it all up in a pretty bow of exhibits. What happened was ugly and dirty. Children these days need to feel that.
