We went for dinner on Valentine’s Day, not the experience I was hoping for. How server was less than acceptable. Very unfriendly and less than enthusiastic about her job. She didn’t even know the menu and when we asked questions she only answered them by picking up the menu and reading it to us. For the price it cost to go out these days this was a huge disappointment, I have no need to go back there. And sad to say the server doing a great job was getting the tables of kids coming off the ski hill. Definitely some poor management going on there.

Color tour on golf carts was fabulous and the multi- point stops for breath taking views, food and a beverage made this a memorable get away. We met many new people during 4 hour tour. Such fun, highly recommend!

Otsego has an amazing history and tradition. We have been coming here for decades. Although times have been hard on the facility the new owners are working hard and making progress to bring the club back to her glory days. Otsego still boasts some of the best views in Gaylord. We had a group just play the Classic and Tribute. The courses were in great condition (except the bunkers which get washed out often). If you come with the right expectations for a northern experience and enjoy the outdoors this is the place.

Made a tee time at the golf course when I called to verify they did not have a tee time. I called at 5:30 so pro shop was suppose to be open. When I went to complain they had the tee time. Very disorganized and I will never stay here or golf here! If someone answers the phone who does not work in the pro shop….maybe they should tell the person calling to call back.

We were at the resort for a family wedding and booked a room over night in the Blue Spruce Lodge. It is in dire need of maintenance and repair. The window in our room (105) was severely rotted from the outside, paint is badly needed on the exterior of the building, the stone tile floor was worn down to the subfloor in the entrance of the building. The bathroom vanity was chipped and the blinds hanging loose from the bracket. Overall very poor condition and the cost was over $200 for 1 night stay.
On the plus side our room was clean and spacious. The trees and lawn were trimmed and mowed nicely.

My wife and I decided to come up to northern Michigan for a three day golf vacation and I have not played the tribute golf course in 12 years which was fantastic back then but I heard was in really bad shape a few years back before the new ownership took over. Well the good news is the course is in very good condition although we have had a extremely dry month of May. So they are watering the courses but there was still quite a bit of brown patches here and there. It is a very hilly layout but extremely enjoyable.and very peaceful. We will be Play gang the class a course this morning for the first time ever and we don’t expect a whole lot being it was built in the 1950s but we will see.
We stayed in the blue Spruce Lodge in the room itself is fine and a tall showerhead is great for a very tall person. The only really bad thing is the air conditioning system doesn’t work very good but they were very nice and brought up a box fan. These are pretty old places but they are kept up fairly well. The package price was $117 per person which was very reasonable
12 years ago when it was owned by a different company we paid $99 for a night lodging a round at the tribute course and the great old wilderness Valley Black forest course too bad that black forest course went out of business that was a gorgeous course.
There are so many golf courses up here it’s amazing that half of them can stay in business there were not hardly any people playing golf yesterday Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the tribute which is sad because it’s such a nice course but I believe the new owner has pretty deep pockets so should be here for a while and the ski area has been here for a long time I’m glad I got to ski here once a few years back

My son and I stayed for two days over MLK weekend. We arrived late on Friday, skied most of the day Saturday and Sunday and left early on Monday. First off, all staff were very warm and welcoming. The early morning front desk was especially helpful (wish I would have gotten her name). The resort was a little dated in spots but quaint and exactly what we were looking for. I bet it was really something in its early days as a private resort. I love history and this resort has some. The main lodge was great. I love the wood burning fireplaces. We stayed in the Tyrol Lodge and had a large room with minimal amenities (no microwave). The mattresses were great; even my son mentioned it. There are several nice runs and a smaller crowd. We liked Bob's Run the most. The snowboard crowd was pretty heavy on Sunday. The weather had been a little warmer and they hadn't had much recent snow. The snow makers were running most of the weekend. We were hoping for a little more natural snow. They kept the runs well groomed overnight but not everything was open due to the limited snow. We were first out on Sunday so we got to experience several of the runs before they got too carved up. The River Cabin was really cool. You didn't have to go back to the main lodge to get food and drinks. We spent most of our time on the back slopes so it was convenient for a break. My only real knock is that the lifts were really slow. If chairlifts 3 & 5 were higher speed, this place would be a five easy. We just burnt up too much time riding.

Had a great time with my buddies golfing at Otsego Club (Tribute) and some other courses. Tracy (Sales Manager) was super to work with in coordinating our trip and the accommodations were great - a townhouse with a hot tub and BBQ grille.
Give this place a look if you want something more than the typical 2 to a room hotel scene.

We came here for a quick, one night stay. The room came with two lift tickets to ski, since only one of us can ski they allowed us to trade the lift ticket in for a tubing ticket. We do a lot of traveling and have stayed in some 5 star places, so we've seen some really nice rooms as well as some really nasty ones. The room we had (Blue Spruce / king bed) was extremely clean and spacious. We didn't really interact with staff other than checking in at the front desk. I will agree with a previous review here, our welcome was less than warm and some of the staff were not wearing masks as required. We were left to our own devices to try and figure out how to get from A to B. As far as skiing - I will definately be back. At this time of year there couldn't have been more than 18 inches of base, but the hills were groomed and the staff at the chairlifts were great!

A beautiful hidden gem in the Sturgeon River Valley with five chairlifts and 32 runs. Snow grooming is excellent and the lift operators and staff at the River Cabin are top-notch. Hats off to ski lift operator Brian for his friendly and humorous disposition.

We were so disappointed with The Tribute.
We used our Golf book and paid $40 and and we have played better courses at $25.
We will never play there again. The Tribute or The Classic. Greens are fairways are in really bad shape, only good thing is the view. Better courses in area to play!
