I went kayaking today with two friends on the Grand River between Knapp bridge and Northland drive. It was a beautiful fall day. Jeff made it so easy, meeting us at the Knapp Meijer parking lot, and putting in our kayak’s at the Knapp bridge. He talked to us about things we should look for on our trip, and what we would see. He had life jackets, put in our kayak’s... we didn’t even get our feet wet. He took our picture and gently pushed us in. The river is wide and straight, so super easy to navigate. There were side coves to explore as well. You really would have to try hard to tip! We saw Kingfisher’s, a bald eagle eating a fish, red tailed hawks and a heron. It was peaceful and beautiful. When our trip ended, Jeff was waiting with water, Gatorade and hot chocolate, along with snacks. He was so kind and friendly, and he knows a lot about the river and Grand Rapids. If you are unsure about the routes, just ask him. He does moonlight tours, early sunrise trips... and he’ll go with you if you need extra help. It was reasonably priced, and a lovely way to take in the beauty on the river! We will do it again!!

Our sunset kayaking trip in Grand Rapids was really really sweet! Had to postpose a day because of weather but Jeff was all over it, making time to be sure we had a good night for our paddle... and so we did. Beautiful sky, beautiful dark water. Paddling into Grand Rapids at night provided a wonderful open view of the city lights, serene easy time. What a treat! Thanks to all.

Yes Maria, it was a great evening to enjoy the Grand River as well as the lights of Grand Rapids on the skyline. I'm pleased that everything worked out well for the three of you. Now, if only the moon would have peeked out.....wow, that would have been so cool. You just never know.

When my husband said he'd booked a canoe trip for the family on the Grand River, my response was: "You want me to do WHAT?" I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up with him and our teenagers. But I was worried for nothing. Our time out on the river was the highlight of our trip.
Not only was I able to keep up, but so was my 78 year old father. Jeff dropped us off in one location, made sure we had everything we needed, and then drove to pick us up downstream. (I'm sure some people enjoy an upstream paddle, but we were not those people.)
Jeff planned everything. He has great equipment. He even lent me a waterproof pouch for my phone, so that I could take pictures. Even the canoe seat is padded. That's fancy!
Can't wait to do it again.

We went on a sunset/twilight paddling experience last week in Grand Rapids and I have only the best words to describe it. GR Paddling's owners, Jeff and his wife Liz, picked us up promptly from our hotel, transported us in a nice, clean van to the launching area, and we were equipped with a new spacious canoe in excellent shape, life vests, walkie talkies, snacks and drinks, water proof bags for our phones, wallets and any other valuable we wanted to take with us. Jeff and Liz took the time to fully brief us before our journey what to expect and do. Not only that, but Jeff followed us on our 3 or so mile journey in his own kayak to ensure all went wonderfully. And it did. Liz was taking pictures of us for our experience souvenirs (and she emailed us the photos within minutes after our experience). Here is a couple that knows their business, takes care of their clients with high professionalism and care, and in such a warm personal way. Our excursion was a perfect touch to our first visit to Grand Rapids.
I strongly recommend GR Paddling. You can take in a wonderfully different and beautiful experience to your Grand Rapids visit.

This was honestly the best thing we did over our weekend in Grand Rapids! Jeff went above and beyond to make our experience a great one. He was so knowledgeable about the route options and we would have had no clue what we were doing without him! We loved how he took a lot of pictures for us to remember the outing and the picnic lunch halfway through was just perfect. I definitely recommend this for anyone visiting the Grand Rapids area!

What a delightful surprise! Greeted by the owner himself (Jeff), outside our hotel and spent a lovely time, being driven to launch site and thoroughly cared for the entire morning. We were treated with such individual attention and given nice helpful hints... he took photos of us from various points on the river and met us at meeting point with cold drinks and snacks. Honestly, an amazing time and GR Paddling is a credit to Grand Rapids Tourism.

We spent the weekend in Grand Rapids and found GR Paddling. We got picked up by Jeff. His personal service, information of the Grand River and some unique info of Grand Rapids was very much enjoyed and appreciated. The canoes, life jackets and paddles were all clean and in great condition. Thanks for all the personal touches Jeff. A do over.

Jeff was awesome!!!! Gave us a tour of Grand Rapids on the way to Grand River giving us history of the city all the while! Made us feel very comfortable by giving us great direction on kayaking!!!! I just knew I would be in the water and I wasn't ! The river was beautiful and he took great pictures for us and emailed them to us the same day!!! Had a CLEAN van to take us in and was a GREAT driver! Brought us back a different route just so we could see and learn more of beautiful Grand Rapids!!! Highly recommend!!!

Jeff and Rita provided us with a safe, fun-filled trip on the Grand River. Memorable, they were great organizers! Would recommend this trip for any age participant.
