This is a cute little nature preserve. There are some nice easy walking trails most are wooden walkways. you can go out on a raised deck over the dunes with a great view of the lake. They also have the cutest nature center, really great for families.

Saw wildlife! Pleasant staff, very welcoming. Walking path was easy hiking—wood chips and boardwalks and well maintained. Trails were very calming quiet experience. Extra Great if you need to relax and reset. We saw frogs(stop and look in the pond), deer, wild turkey, interesting plants, trees. Theres a Walk down to small beach. Another spot lets you view the lake from a boardwak on a dune.

This nice preserve is a wonderful quick hike if visiting the area. Deep woods and a beautiful beach are part of the trails.

Upon arrival there were a couple of guys to help you parking and tell you which way to start on the trail. It was a beautiful walk and of course the lake view was gorgeous.

A very well maintained set of pathways through the forest to the edge of Lake Michigan. The trail we took was mostly through balsam/ cedar wetland forest. A nice little pond is found part way to the beach overlook. The trail follows a ridge overlooking the shoreline. One must stay on the path. A well constructed wooden walkway takes you to an overlook of Lake Michigan . It was a very pleasant visit.

Beautiful short walk on mostly boardwalk and some wood chips. A few different walking paths that all lead out to Lake Michigan. Benches along the way to sit and listen to nature along with some informational signs along the way.

My wife and I enjoyed a morning walk around the preserve. It’s a gem, the manager is friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and he was very helpful with all the guests I saw him interact with during our visit. The water is gorgeous, and the vegetation is so diverse, you couldn’t see everything unless you take the time to look at everything.

We enjoyed walking the short trail from the entrance to the beach, with a stop at the pond, where we saw an oriole, other birds and frogs. The water level is so high, there isn't a lot of depth to the beach, but it is one of the few around Harbor Springs, so it's worth checking out. The trails are very well maintained; I recommend a stop when you are in the area.

Gorgeous walk, beautiful stretch of beach and great stewardship. Perfect place to skip stones, write in the sand, build stone zen sculptures, have a picnic, soak in nature. We all loved it!

Visited Thorn Swift Nature Preserve with family today including 3 year old grandson. This is a quaint very short nature trail right on Lake Michigan. Great informational signage, well constructed boardwalks and natural trail. This is a very easy walk for kids and elders. Might not be the best for handicapped but you could do it if not needing a chair or other immobility devices. It’s a small area so if it’s busy you will have to be patient to get around it. We had a good time.
