The new visitor center is really informative, especially the newer film. The ranger we spoke with was a wealth of information and knew so much of the battles from the early 1800s, how they related to past and present history. He also knew the historians who helped in the filming. We were very impressed and came away with a lot more understanding.

This is really interesting. The visitor's center is really awesome and growing. There is a movie to watch. And a very interesting warehouse space that is developing into a real nice walk thru experience for learning. It's still under construction and growing but it's really a fabulous set up and more than half finished. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and well spoken. He lead the morning walk thru the battlefield and the museum. Find out when the guided walking tour is, you'll get more out of it. We were traveling with the grandkids and didn't know what to except, but everyone enjoyed the visit.

We enjoyed the miniature display at the visitor center. The Ranger explained the history and significance of River Raisin and it was nice have the miniature model to get a visual interpretation of the events. We learned a lot

The staff was friendly and helpful. There visitor's center is in a new location where they are working on more displays and exhibits. What they had was nice and informative. The battlefield is a solemn reminder of the past with nice informational signs

The new visitors center is far too large for this attraction, but it does have a gift shop, diorama and movie. The brochures are outdated but we did not know this and so we never got to tour actual battlefield as we did not know the brochure started the tour from the old visitors center not the new one. The staff was concerned with everything but helping us. They moved us out of one room because a group was coming in and no one seemed to want to check us out at the gift shop. We have had much better experiences at other NBP.

This is a work in progress. The original visitors center closed, and moved into the overall visitors center. There is a small gift shop area, a large floor map and diorama used by the staff to set the stage for the battle, and a two-part movie ($3) that gives a great overview of the events that took place along with the aftermath. The battlefield area is still being developed, but there are a few signs with information in the area. The staff and interns were all pleasant and willing to provide information about the time period, area, and battle itself above and beyond what was there.

We paid $2.50 each to see a movie that other parks would have included. We are visiting lots of NPs right now and this was a first
Another first: five staff behind the desk. Talk about over staffed! Drain the swamp.
And start in MI.
The historical significance was explained very well and this was a nice stop after Put in Bay to tie some of the War of 1812 together.

The visitor center was closed when we arrived; however,we used the map out front, the self-guided information, and the pamphlet to recreate the scene of the battles. It was very informative. Hopefully things will open up soon so visitor's can get the full experience.

River Raisin NBP was the main reason for my little road trip. I'm trying to get to all the NPS sites I can and this one is sort of close by. The Visitor Center is covid closed, but I walked around the building and checked out the few displays they have set up. I then walked out and did the loop trail around the fields. There are message boards set up where homesteads were, which is interesting. They have flags set up to show where the different battle participants where. The walk in the open field not that scenic and there are buildings and factories in view. Maybe they will plant some trees in the future to conceal the industrial landscape.
Back by the parking area, there is a nice pavilion set up for people to use and a lot of markers with interesting battle information. Read both sides of them. All in all, it's a good foundation to build upon, but it needs a little smoothing out. I did read that they may take over Fort Wayne in Detroit, which would give me enough reason to get up to that, and I did see the info board in Dundee about Macon Reservation.
Worth the trip and hopefully it gets a little TLC. It's a really interesting part of US history.
