I did the volcano boarding trip in February 2018, it was really good fun! A pleasant hike up to the volcano summit with nice views all around. Then sledging on volcanic ash down the mountain, a unique experience!

We had great experience with Summit Adventures! Spent morning hiking Cerro Negro Volcano and boarding back down! This was once in a lifetime experience. The guides were super helpful, provided all gear and snacks.

This was definitely one of the highlights in Nicaragua for me!! We had such a fun day hiking around the volcano, with incredible views all around!! And then topping it off with boarding down the volcano was super fun!!

A really interesting tour of Leon that includes going on the impressive white domed roof of the central cathedral, which offers 360 degree views of the city and surrounding volcanoes; visiting prison 21; and exploring the city.
Pedro is a great guide his passion is infectious and his knowledge impressive. Our entire group really enjoyed this tour and I would highly recommend it.

Fui parte de un grupo de 7 que contratamos a Summit para el Volcano Boarding en el Cerro Negro y su servicio fue impecable desde el inicio hasta el final.
Puntuales, el vehículo cómodo y limpio. El equipo de seguridad provisto estaba en muy buenas condiciones y nuestros guías Kenda y Jesús fueron profesionales, informativos y amistosos.
Al final la fruta y bebidas frías que nos dieron fue un gran detalle de valor agregado.
Totalmente recomendables.
Puntuales, el vehículo cómodo y limpio. El equipo de seguridad provisto estaba en muy buenas condiciones y nuestros guías Kenda y Jesús fueron profesionales, informativos y amistosos.
Al final la fruta y bebidas frías que nos dieron fue un gran detalle de valor agregado.

Had a great and informative tour around Leon with friendly, knowledgeable and professional guide. He also knew a lot of the locals which was nice to see.
You have to go sledding down Cerro Negro. The hike up and the sled ride down was a highlight of the trip. Amazing experience. Great views and the Volcano even gave me a hat from the crater lol

It was a good experience the guides are very professional, the local is very good and has a nice costumers support definitely the best experience ever, the tours are the best election to take a great vacations.

Firstly sledding down Cerro Negro is amazing and a must.
This said the service and tour given by Summit was high end pricing with average delivery.
Couple points...
1. Guides turned up 25mins late for tour pick up (private tour) with no apology or indication that it mattered. Once on the way (5mins) stopped at market for driver to buy smokes and guides brought fruit. Very unorganised.
2. Tour company apparently has a motto "where adventure meets culture" other than telling us their names guides did not speak to us or tell us about the area, national park, volcano or the morning ahead.
3. The equipment provided was average with a number of people's bags with broken straps and everyone in XL jumpsuits. The positive is they did provide jumpsuits. Would have recommended something to cover your mouth.
4. Really pushed the fact they take photos of the tour and shared on Facebook. We got 6 photos... 3 group and 3 of the same person. Considering the number of times this was mentioned expected more. The fact one of the guides walked part way down the volcano to take pictues while each of us went down seems odd.
5. Guide seems annoyed that everyone did not walk fast enough for them. Become pushy and rude if people did not keep up.
6. Did not check that people were ready for sledding. One person took off with googles up. Another person fell off their board and a guide from another company helped, not our guides.
7. Sent message to company regarding late arriving guides and still no reply (2 days so far)
Overall an over promised experience with a very low level of service delivery. Lots of operators in town offering the same levels for alot less.
