The picturesque Tour des Bouchers (of the Butchers) has for centuries served as a defensive gateway between the upper and lower parts of the city. This tower in particular, as well as a lookout point, also served as a bell tower and prison. Its name, Tower of the Butchers, obviously derives from the activity of the congregation of butchers that carried out the activity in this area. Today it is the emblem of the city and culminates at 29 meters.

Ancient tower, gateway to the city. Our guide Heidi told us the medieval history of the village which was divided into neighbourhoods, this surviving tower is dedicated to the butchers' guild and has been remodeled over time. The village is a wedding favor, beautiful!

Torre medievale, rimaneggiata, posta al termine della Grand'Rue, la principale strada del borgo, che ne rappresentava un tempo la porta di accesso. Molto fotogenica.

Le Tour des Bouchers (Torre dei Macellai) è stata costruita nel 1920 ed è alta 29 metri.
La torre prende il nome dalla corporazione di macellai che fu chiamata a difesa della città da eventuali attacchi esterni.
Questa Torre, l'ultima di quelle costruite a rimanere oggi, era uno degli edifici che permetteva alle persone di spostarsi da un distretto all'altro ai tempi in cui Ribeauville era suddivisa in diversi distretti.
Punto di partenza per una piacevole passeggiata lungo la Grand Rue, rimane oggi il simbolo del borgo di Ribeauville

dans un style courant dans la région, elle se trouve au milieu de la grande rue et limite deux parties de la vieille ville.On passe dessous en voiture lorsqu'on remonte cette rue principale .
