Spectacular site! We wanted to visit it for the particular house among the rocks but we were amazed by the surrounding landscape: the sea that retreats in the afternoon for low tide creating an amazing lunar landscape. Then also wonderful walk to Punta chateau, beautiful landscapes. Free and convenient parking.

Important notice to all Italians (and not only). When visiting this fantastic site, remember to walk alone and only on the paths and pay close attention to those micro signs, on the ground, which exclusively in French indicate that we are moving in a nature reserve where species nest and protected plants grow. The risk, in fact, not so remote alas, is to enter unintentionally into "forbidden" areas destroying flora and fauna and to get a fine of more than 500 euros. When the coast guard scolded me and realized that we were Italians, he told me that this tendency to disregard the signs is, apparently, widespread among us inhabitants of the boot. I don't want to make controversy but just report the facts. I explained to the guard (and not to justify myself) that with me there were also many French, German and some American families, a sign that, perhaps, the problem concerns different nationalities. And that perhaps flagging it with larger, more visible signs written in multiple languages might help to avoid mistakes. It seems, however, that the existing signs are considered more than sufficient to warn tourists (if many are obviously wrong so clear is not, but so it is: mea culpa!

Without more you have to climb to the top of the rocks where there is a viewpoint but I saw better. I think you have to go there at high tide to see the waves burst on the rocks.

Een pareltje aan de Bretoense kust is zeker de wandeling naar de site du Gouffre aan de côte du Granit rose. Je loopt over de GR 34 langs de rotskust waar de zee beukt en het schuim rond vliegt ( zeker bij wat heviger wind). Aanrader ook met kinderen. Vergeet het huisje tussen de 2 rotsblokken niet.

To see all the beauty of the Pink Granite it is a must hike. Beautiful views. Well-marked and safe paths.

The site of Le Gouffre is a must of Brittany with this house that, for a long time, represented the region. This is private property. When I was a child (in the 70s) it was uninhabited. The site is so called because not far from the house we are facing a peak where the sea breaks in a crash of tortured water. We come here mainly to admire the wild landscape where sea and rocks coexist with fury. The sea tries to push back the coast, the rocks resist its assaults. Park in the reserved parking lot and contemplate nature. When the tide is low run through the interlacing granite rocks.

Visiting family in the area we were driven down to Le Gouffre on a Tuesday late afternoon in early June. With a soft breeze and the sun out this is a lovely site to visit. Lovely rock formations that form the coast line, beautiful nature, a strange house built in between two rock formations and a WW2 German gun placement thrown in, this is very nice to come down to for a quick visit.

Pleasant to see but bring plenty of water and caps if it is hot because there is no shade or very little near the rocks.

Bonjour Parking semi ombragé a 10 minutes suivre le Gouffre , maison du littoral Chemin très bien
amenagé et plat Attention il est possible de bien voir la maison mais pas d'y accéder propriété privée Bonne balade
