This library is very unique in that it's a beautiful historic home converted years ago to a classy library. In addition to the typical resources you would expect to find in a library, it is very engaged in community programs. For instance, just before the holidays throughout December, the library held a collection event for the shelter to home rescue in Wyandotte. Many dropped off blankets, dishes, toys and anything else that dogs and cats could use at the shelter. I loved bringing my kids and grandchildren to this very unique library over the years. In fact, I took a friend's child several years ago for a haunted story telling in the library's cool attic on the upper level. I continuously check the Wyandotte home page for library events at the Bacon Library. It's a very special place that is well worth checking out.😊

Way too loud in here. Old dames screeching on the top of their lungs, little brats running and screeching all over the library. And the dames have their phones on so you will be interrupted by their ring tones. This place is horrible.

We love this library. AC in the summer. Close to the park. They rent fishing poles!!! Great book exchange and books for sale. Beautiful building. Great programs. We are lucky to live so close.

I lived in Wyandotte as a child, when the Bacon House WAS the Library, and before the new extensions were built. I've recently moved back, renewed my library card (they found my old membership!) and surveyed the current facility.
The old card catalogs are gone, and lots of work stations/computers/printers, with staff to help. Renewing my card was easy, staff friendly and helpful. I have rather esoteric tastes (I have read a biography of Cicero in Latin ....) and they were non-plused and are part of a library exchange to help get me the items I need/want.

This library, though small, is a wonderful place for readers and writers. They have an extensive magazine collection and a variety of children and family activities. Writers will enjoy the peacefulness of the home's rooms and the inspiration that can be drawn from them.

Excellent library. Wonderful staff. If they don't have the book you're interested in they will have it brought to the library for you. I love my library.

This library is a gem. You can leave the library area and go up the stairs into the original Bacon family mantion to sit and read. Just a beautiful place for calming your mind

Bacon Memorial Library has a program in the summer that lets card holders check out fishing poles and tackle boxes for fishing on the Wyandotte pier or anywhere else for a week.

My mom worked here when I was in 2nd grade in the 70's... and to a bookworm like myself, the Bacon Library was a heaven on earth. I came here daily, and used to read books in a carpeted claw foot tub! Janet and Beth were the best librarians -- and I think they're still there! Mrs. Tinsley used to bring her beagle Socrates there, and she'd let me go upstairs into the Bacon House with her all the time... oh, I miss that place and time. :-) Today it's a much more modernized library, but its bones are still there, and I am transported back just stepping through the door.
