We did not bring bikes, but we swam and the water was amazing!!! I felt so refreshed that I want to go back just to swim. It felt like spring water. We will probably go back this summer and camp near by. We brought our dogs and let them swim too. People there were so nice. Several kayakers, people having picnics, etc. They don't have an actual swimming beach - it's more of a swimming area. (not sandy or anything). There are picnic tables and changing rooms. Loved it.

Amazing park for mountain biking and kayaking. We rented a clear kayak to take advantage of the amazing water clarity. Pulled up on a sand spit to swim too. No motors on the mine pit lakes, quiet and beautiful. We swam every day from the shore too, very deep water so floated on pool noodles to relax even though we’re good swimmers. Mountain biking was fun to try with rentals too. Hiking is not real practical here - though you can safely and legally do some on the paved trails and wide dirt access roads, all the trails are for bikes only. We hiked at the Mine Memorial Park and random other access roads instead. Definitely recommend. Weekdays quieter vibe.

Don't miss this one. We camped late August 2020 at the Portsmouth campground with easy access to trails by bike. The trails are beautiful and well groomed with vista views at many points. Even the "easy" ones can be a little rocky/challenging.
The next level up is definitely challenging depending on your skill level. There are multiple lakes to choose from with very clear water and sand beaches. We brought kayaks and floated and explored. Ironton town is close with 2 bars and a brewery; grocery store for supplies. Purchase firewood in town; had 4 solid bars of Verizon coverage at all times. Definitely going back.

Great one way single track, very narrow passage through several treed areas so you have to be paying attention or wide handle bars will get caught . One way track was new to me but took stress off of watching for on coming riders as I was unfamiliar with the E-bike I rented in town. E-bike was a little fast for narrow trail with a lot of hairpin turns you definitely need to be on your toes for, A lot of fun! Bike shop was close to town so made it easy access to trails.

Breathtaking views and miles of trails combine for a fabulous getaway. Whether kayaking, fishing, hiking, or simply picnicking, you won't be disappointed here. We will definitely be back again.

Visited over Memorial Day weekend, 2020. This is a "hidden gem" Amazing array of mountain bike trails, from beginner to expert. Hilly, through woods, along lovely lakes.
Great for picnics, canoeing, walking, and mountain biking (we also saw people fishing - can't comment on that)

What a fabulous trail center. By far the best FatBiking trail conditions I’ve ridden. I realize it’s weather dependent but the trails quality and grooming make this a must ride area🚵.....

This park is exclusive to mountain bikes. Lots of mountain bike trails. It’s in an amazing area. If you love mountain bike trails this is your park. It also has a great biking tail.
We couldn’t figure out if there were any walking trails. Beautiful area if anyone knows about walking trails would be interested in where in this park.

Went up to Cuyuna to hit the trails with a buddy. The trails were perfect and the terrain was something you just can’t get in the cities. Some of the overlooks distracted you from riding! Well worth the 2 hours to get there, highly recommended for anyone who enjoys singletrack.

Beautiful mountain bike trails and enjoyable kayaking. There is great visibility in water, and the Pennington Chain of lakes is a lot of fun since you can kayak between multiple lakes. In addition to camping/cabins, there are a number of Airbnb options near downtown Crosby, which is walking/biking distance to the trails and lakes as well as restaurants, breweries and coffee shops.
