Lake Pepin Pearl Button Company is just a gift shop focused on typical mid to higher end vacation items with a focus on the Mississippi River. There was not a pearl to be found - the name is very misleading and just a few shells from mussels that were for display purposes only.
It is not what it claims to be just a simple gift shop and one that is average to slightly above average. It might have gotten four stars if not for the misleading name.

The Pearl Button Factory is a great place to visit when you're in Lake City! The new management has expanded the clothing section and added to the variety of unusual gift items. The antiques are reasonably priced and artfully arranged. I love to wander ths beautiful store in search of treasures for myself and gifts for family and friends.

There is a small part of this that caters to the original use of the building and it is interesting and informative if you all do not know it 50% of the buttons in the early part of last century came from this location to be made...and amid that is a nice little shopping experience.

I love shopping here. Every time my family is it Lake city this is a place to go. I may not always buy something but I like to look.

The owner / staff are friendly and take care with your purchases. Many lake related items and handmade and antique items to browse among three floors, set in an architecturally interesting old Pearl Button Factory.

Very nice shop in a historic building. Antiques, local art, clothing and some handcrafted items. One cabinet provided some history of the original business in the building. Nice shopping experience over the 3 floors. Close to the marina. There are a lot of items in this smaller building, maybe not the best activity for kids.

This is, as has already been mentioned, an antique/upscale gift shop. There is a very small display about the button making with a few photographs and articles. We came for the history, not the shopping.
If you want a much better history of the pearl button industry, visit the Mississippi River Museum in Dubuque.

Unique store with gifts, clothing and antiques, as well as the local sports team sportswear. Three floors to kick around with a free cup of coffee and find the needed gift or personal treasure.
