Great place to visit with yourself and or family! I hike the park 4-5 days per week and the past few weeks my family and I visited the playground and the swimming pond.
The grounds are very well kept, everything nice and clean, especially the swimming pond area.
Lots of parking available any time of the day. This is the best park in the Twin Cities area!

Love this place! Great place to walk, hike, skate, bicycle and enjoy nature at its finest. There are many entrances in three different cities to get into the park and it is all free. You only need to pay a fee for a daily or annual pass for the Off leash dog park or to enjoy one of the other activities depending on the season. This park is full of wildlife and the deer are my absolute favorite. I spend an aveage of 5-10 hours per week in the Elm Creek Park Reserve and have enjoyed hundreds of sunsets over the years. I have been visiting since 1992.

We love coming to this park. Its so big and lots of fun slides for the children to be apart of it. Always nice to get them out especially to a park with so many activities.

Beautiful place to play outdoors. The weather was fabulous, the tubing hill and cross country ski trails were open. The snowmobile trail was not very good due to lack of fresh snow. Only disappointment all bathrooms at parking lots were closed! Not right when we had to pay to park our trailer as well.

Visited for the first time this summer and found this a great place to do some biking. Extensive biking/walking trails. Trails in the southern portion of the park are busier with walkers but much less traffic on the more remote trails on the northern half of the park. Pleasant bucolic scenery throughout and I was able to spend several hours biking here.

Excellent food made from scratch. Yummy sandwiches and tasty soup. Try the Raman its great. There is also a great selection of craft beers to choose from.

The most beautiful place for a evening walk and to find some peace away from the media as well. Every night that I can I take a hike through the east side of the park between Champlin and Dayton. There are miles and miles of a paved path plus a horse trail as well which can also be used. The breathtaking sunsets and encounters with the wildlife are so great. I have been visiting this place for almost 30 years and still enjoy it every time I visit.

Seem excellent area for playground but was closed because of COVID, great for hiking and golfing as well , preserve areas and barbecue options with nicely green well kept areas.

I’m always looking for family fun that is able to hit a budget and keep us ‘on the go’! This 2 hour window of time was perfect in 40 degree weather! It may have seemed busy ~ but the lines went fast and everyone was able to go on their own and Meetup later or go as a group and make memories. There were even a few runs we made it all the way to the bottomless even got some air on the little lifts down the hill. This was a perfect amount of time (especially for littler children who tire more easily) ~ yet get exercise and energy out of out systems.

Are there plenty of shaded tables near the playgrounds for picnics?

Yes. The area has plenty of large trees providing shade and there are picnic tables but especially on the weekends, they fill up quick, first come. If there are no tables there is still plenty of room for a picnic if you bring some folding chairs or a blanket.
