This arena, "the barn," is 93 years old and boy can you tell. Most arenas have a circumference walkway that allows you to easily access the various levels, not Williams. Elevators are few and far between and there is hardly any signage. We had to ask 4 ushers before one knew where the elevators were. Be aware that in the upper rows you will find old style bench seating. The stairs in the seating area are concrete, maybe one short handrail on the lower level, none above row 8 or so. Additionally, there are lots of problems with sight lines. Being an ancient structure the upper seating sections are supported by big vertical I beams in each section. If you go to Williams, be very careful where you choose seats.

This stadium looked very nice. We saw it touring the campus. It would be great to see a game inside when the virus is gone. Nice place.

A fun evening of basketball and the Gophers won! We enjoyed the game, but The Barn seems to be old and outdated.

For one of the older arenas in the Big 10, it's awesome. The upgrades are nice, the raised floor is second to none and it just reeks of hometown advantage!

Enjoyed a state tournament basketball game here recently. Impressed with the old, classic feel and atmosphere. Raised court and good acoustics, even with a smaller crowd. Decent restrooms and refreshments. Bench seating for the top half of the lower and upper sections. I'd come back for another game.

This is a classic old-style arena with many old school positives. The elevated floor, the acoustics that allow for crowd noise to impact events, and close to floor intimate seating are all positives. The obstructed view seating, seats located in section walkways (fire marshall is this legal?), insufficient restrooms, poorly run and located concession stands, narrow concourses, and lack of handicap accessibility in many areas of the building are huge negatives.
If you are going to an event here...a few helpful hints:
Eat and drink before you go, so you can avoid the huge lines at the poorly run concession stands.
Go to the restroom before you go in the arena to avoid the lines for the awful restrooms.
Go early to avoid the crowds in the tiny concourses. This is especially true if anyone in your party is in a wheelchair.
If you are going to an event here...a few helpful hints:

The atmosphere in Williams arena can be electric if the Gophers are playing well. I have been going to games for 30+ years. It is the best place to see a game if you are out from underneath the over hang.
I hope the U of MN doesn’t ever tear this place down. It has great character. A big ten game in Williams arena is a must.

Old world venue with a touch of modern. Nice and clean, friendly staff, NO METAL DeTECTORS, and not a bad seat in the house. Best place to watch a basketball game in town!

The barn. Great place to watch a basketball game. It may not have some of the latest and greatest amenities as newer venues but it has a lot of character and energy. The new white floor isnt as bad as i thought it would be, actually is okay. Fun place.

The Commons Hotel right off light rail has a nice restaurant and also an applebees nearly back to back.
