I am a newcomer to the park. I was thrilled it was easy to find, coming over from St. Paul. Great trails and snow shoeing. A neat little auditorium for warming and a bit of local shopping.

My husband and I went hiking here on a beautiful, warm spring day after visiting the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden. We had already paid for parking so we went hiking on a loop from there.
This park is 740 acres including 1.35 miles of walking trails and 1.35 miles of bike trails. Included in the park are almost 83 acres of water and 280 acres of golf courses.
The park originated in 1889 when the first 64 acres were acquired, and it was named Saratoga Park. Following various name changes it was named after Theodore Wirth, Superintendent of Minneapolis Parks from 1906 to 1935. The park, parkway, and included lake were all named for him in 1938.
The area we hiked in had some larger hills to hike and might be challenging for some. We did not hike the full park but I believe there are flatter areas too as there are cross-country ski trails we have skied in the past, and there are usually beginner areas.

Totally unprofessional customer service. The place is runned by teenagers who goof off and don't care about customers who paid!!

its a huge park filled with adventure but it s also dangerous and unsafe and unprotected its very very wild be ready it could be great but its not organized or safe or taken care of

The beech is also great. Can get busy on hot days. Would not go during holidays. Go early and you won't have to deal with a ton of people. Bike paths are great, with some good off road trails. Haven't CC skied here but there are a ton of people that do.

Went golfing there. The course itself was fun and in relatively good shape. The round played in a little over 4 hours. I would have liked water on the course. This is not country club golf but it is enjoyable.

We got here at opening time, as advised to by a staff member the previous day, and ended up waiting an hour from them to work out how to open the outdoor unit housing the tubes. We were also informed after paying that the rope to bring people back up the tubing hill was not functioning.

Beautiful new "Trailhead" building with rentals for skiing and 'fat tire' bikes. Nice trails with rolling terrain. The site makes some snow to help keep the trails open. Lots of use by high school teams and locals.

The park has a golf course, swimming, flower garden, hiking trails, biking trails, cross country skiing, tubing, new and historic facilities, wedding venue ect. It stretches from just outside DT to Uptown and over to Robbinsdale. Its the size of Central Park actually. If you are local you should check out their events, they have music in the park as well.

Not recommended going alone on the trails, the chalet is interesting, find the stream that goes under ground thru downtown and under the court house.
