5 levels, a lot to do for kids and adults. Some activities required fees, but most are free. There’s a lot to see in the area. Recommend paying for the $12.all the parking instead of the meter that cost $3 per hour. Time goes quickly when you do hourly parking .

This was fun for both my youngest & teen. The dinosaurs were great & there were some new ones for us.
The area with all the weird science inventions was very interesting, and great that you could interact with some of them.
There was a temporary exhibit that was birds, insects, etc. made into art that was fantastic. Both my kids really enjoyed walking through & looking at all the displays.

Such a fun place - my inner child was squealing with delight. Really well-organized and so many hands-on activities. Absolutely worth a visit, whether or not you have kids.

Beautiful museum that is well organized and nicely designed. There’s a little bit of everything to view and explore. It is enjoyable, but not inexpensive - $15 parking, $39/adult, $29 teens. Not sure if there’s any kind of discount (we didn’t qualify for anything). We spent most of the afternoon here, so all in all got our money’s worth - but at the same time, price might be a factor for some people.

The science museum is really good. There are so many hands on activities for the children to take part in and learn. The lady who did a lot of the science shows was fabulous. Molly I think her name is. She engaged the kids and was funny with it. They learned a lot and really enjoyed it.
One of the criticisms is that some of the displays and items in the shop were more suited to a history museum than a science museum.
Now the reason my rating was so low was that some of the staff were really outwardly rude. Evan and Violet. Evan thought it appropriate to shoot a comment to his colleague about us and then Violet was just so impatient and miserable. If my kids hadn't bought there own money to spend I would of just walked out. It's so disappointing to find staff that treat customers that way. It really puts a downer on a trip. We hadn't even asked them for anything or caused a problem so goodness knows what they are like when people actually need help!

You could spend an entire day here! Several floors of sooo many hands on exhibits. Many Learning areas. Everything from dinosaurs to music.

This was a great way to kill an afternoon. The exhibits were interesting, and focused on Minnesota. The place is not very large. It was not crowded.

Great time with 10 year old Granddaughter. Collections of dolls & beadwork ( my granddaughter has started to do).
We enjoyed the dinosaurs gallery, having watched the movies Jurassic Park.

At Science Museum of Minnesota — Great science museum. Well done with hands on activities. Three stories. The art created using butterflies, insects, sea life is beautiful. truly keeping kids of all ages interested.

I loved the exhibit about race and the Exquisite Creatures temporary exhibit. The museum is a bit small, but it was perfect for the time I had to spend there. It’s a little pricey, but that’s not super surprising, since everything is more expensive. It was overrun by kids that were in some sort of Summer camp, which made it hard to see some of the exhibits, but that was not the museum’s fault. It is summertime after all, and many kids go to the museum during the summer. I would definitely recommend going to the museum, just pick a time when it’s not overrun by kids.

Hi Jean - unfortunately, we are not connected to the Skyway system in St. Paul. However, all our museum entrances are accessible for wheelchairs.

It will be busy. However, do a degree it depends on the weather. If it's nice it will be almost "crazy busy." If there's a bit of snow, or more, falling, the crowds will be quite a bit less.
It's only uncomfortably crowded in the summer.

If you have a membership, parking beneath the SMM is $5.00 anytime, but you do not have in/out parking privileges for that fee. And if you do not have a membership, the rates are still reasonable. There is also on-street meter parking on the lower level of the SMM as well as on the main street, though you may have to walk a few blocks.

Cossetta's Italian deli. It's great Italian that is served cafeteria style. They also have a nicer sit down restaurant upstairs as well as a bakery and a market. My personal favorite is their raspberry tarts. And the biggest perk is that it is within walking distance of the science museum.
