OUAHHHH ! Quelle magnifique exposition !
A découvrir absolument, car il s'agit bien de découvrir les pièces magnifiques, réalisées avec talent et simplicité, qui sont exposées dans une mise en scène tellement professionnelle, à la hauteur des plus grands musées internationaux (et des musées et expositions, nous en avons vu aux quatre coins du monde).
J'encourage vivement tout un chacun à s'y rendre car cela ne peut que plaire à toutes et tous, jeunes et enfants compris.
Nous y retournerons encore plusieurs fois pour en profiter (sans oublier le restaurant au bord du lac).
Alors une fois encore, un grand BRAVO et MERCI à Madame Bérengère-Primat.

A lui seul le site vaut la visite. L’exposition Résonances est magnifique et les œuvres présentées forcent la réflexion au delà de leurs diversités et de leurs qualités. Une exposition à voir !
Le restaurant est fermé, mais la proposition de mini burgers et d’un tartare de bœuf dégustés sur un banc face au plan d’eau a été très appréciée : goûteuse et facile à manger en « take away » !

Magnifique lieu et belle expo, mélangeant l’art aborigène et l’art moderne. Intéressant et fait avec goût.
En plus ils prennent la peine et mettre les textes dans deux langues, très appréciable.

Nous avons visité la nouvelle exposition "Résonance". Très belles pièces, le tout est bien agencé, rien que le bâtiment en soi vaut le détour.

Un bel édifice, une exposition superbe, des œuvres magnifiées par une muséographie excellente. L'idée d'avoir fait collaborer des groupes de femmes et d'hommes afin de produire de grandioses œuvres collectives produit deux résultats spectaculaires. Nous avons visité l'exposition dans un calme absolu et cela ajoute au côté fascinant des productions de cet art si particulier. L'exposition Before time began est à voir jusqu'au 29.03.2020

This exhibition is very well presented, easily laid-out, placards in English and French. The explanations were interesting and informative. I especially liked the film about aboriginal artists and the history of the work that was commissioned. When I looked at the actual works that were produced, it all meant so much more. I loved every minute of this art gallery.

S'il y a un endroit à visiter, c'est bien la Fondation Opale à Lens. Un grand bravo et beaucoup de respect à Mme Primat et sa famille pour la qualité des expositions proposées et de faire perdurer la fonction de ce magnifique bâtiment. L'exposition actuelle sur l'art Aborigène est superbe et très intéressante. De plus, l'accueil et la cuisine du restaurant l'Opale, situé dans le bâtiment au bord du Lac Louché, constituent un passage incontournable ! Nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir.

I went to the Opale foundation in Lens to visit the Befor Time Began exhibition. It’s an exhibition which explain Autochtones of Australia’s story and show their art. Aborigenal people like to paint, sculpt and create.
It’s important to know that every painting describes a dream. For each people, legend and event they do dream about, they paint. Usually, Aborigenal people paint on the floor or on rocks. But here they use wood or convass. Aborigenal people paintings are usually very colorful, that’s why I found them absolutely amazing. Every symbols has a particular meaning which can change depending the context. Only they have the keys to understand their painting.
They draw and paint doing little dot’s what takes much time that the result is incredible. For each painting, I tried to imagin how long it took.
I think of on of them in particular. This one is called « Goannas dream ». It represents Goannas orange and white, on a black wooden. There are many others symbols which I just can’t know because I’m not Aborigenal enough to understand. What really makes me like this painting is that, due to the fact that the wooden is black, the others colors look brighter than that if they were on a simple piece of white paper. There also are some little yellow dots which look like stars in the night. I really find it beautiful.
But there weren’t onl paintings, Aborigenal people also like to draw, sculpt and decorate their sculpture.
If you are interested in others cultures and love colorful paintings, I think you have to go visit the Before Time Began exhibition.
