Great boat trip- interesting. Beautiful scenery. Really enjoyed. Walk next door to State Park to finish up the day. Fun town- good outing for family.

This has become an annual fall "tradition." My friend and I agree - the trip is relaxing - it clears your mind. The scenery can take your breath away. Plenty of opportunities to take pictures. It is a "family friendly" event ... people talk to each other. And - the staff is young and extremely kind to the passengers. They help families with kids get on board, they help people with walkers come down the ramp ... and - there is a golf card to take people from the boat to the parking lot - no excuses for not coming on board!

We had the perfect day for a trip in the St. Croix. Would have loved a longer voyage but the depth of the river didn’t permit. Regardless, having done this before, it was wonderful. The staff is very accommodating for 2 seniors with mobility challenges. Will plan another trip in the spring. Bravo👏👏👏

We had amazing weather the weekend we went, and the crew was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We especially liked the narrative on the tour explaining the facts of the boat and the settlement of the area. I would highly recommend this tour!

We celebrated a 99th birthday and it was great. We had 68 family members attending. Everything was excellent the deck hands gave us the best possible trip.

Beautiful and relaxing boat tour. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery while you enjoy some interesting geological and historical facts from the captain. The 'tour' happens in the first half. The second half is for chatting and sight seeing.
Tip #1: When the water levels are especially low, you might board in a different spot. They will send an e-mail to let you know where to be on the day of the tour. And if you are un-sure, you could just ask them at the ticket counter. Be aware that this is a possibility, check your e-mail, and be a little early in case there has been a change.
Tip #2: If it's hot and sunny, dress appropriately and consider sunscreen. The boat has some awnings for shade, but the shade moves as the boat does so you may wish you had brought a brimmed hat or sunglasses. Of course, you can sit downstairs and look out the windows, but that seems like a shame.
Tip #3: Check the website beforehand to see where you can park. You should also allow an extra 5-10 minutes for parking in case your preferred lot is full.

There were four adults in our party. Two of us from MN and two visiting from Canada. I have been to Taylors Falls several times a year since moving to MN twenty-eight years go, but had never seen it from the water. What a fabulous way to spend eighty minutes on a gorgeous summer day. Now I want to go back for sure during the Fall colors! The views, the comfortable ride and the information on the area given by the tour guide are all great. Highly recommend even if you don’t have out of town guests.

The answer is probably yes, it does depend on when you are going because the water level can be a factor. Your best bet is to call the boat company close to when you plan to go and they will be able to tell you.

There is cover inside the boat from the elements and so rain wouldn't spoil the dinner part of the Cruise. I think to make the best of the scenery and see any wildlife it is best on a day when it isn't raining.
