If you can visit early in the day - or when it's a frosty morning the vegetation alone is worth the trip up. I am always in awe of the sights and sounds on the 7-mile drive. Wildflowers, migrating birds, monarchs and other butterflies, dragonflies and of course the Sandhill Cranes and other waterfowl native to our Minnesota environment. Restroom is always tidy and volunteers roam the trail as well. A great day can be spent in your car just viewing all that there is to see.....be sure to drive slow though....you don't want to miss anything.
