We went because we had nothing else to do and it was, well, something to do. It ended up being a GREAT stop. We had no idea that there were "other critters" in the building too. The two headed snake was fascinating and there were several different snakes and salamanders and turtles as well as taxidermied animals and information on local species. The viewing tank allowed for up-close viewing of some pretty big fish. We went outside and fed some fish which was fun - even for a 12-year old (and her mom haha). It's also nice that it takes just a quarter to get a nice sided handful of fish food. It's not huge by any means but it is definitely worth a stop!

We so enjoyed our visit here last year, that we had to bring family members for a return visit this year.
The introductory film is a wonderful way to orient oneself to the facility; and its operation & history. How the fish are spawned and raised is a fascinating story; and gives one a perspective on what the workers here are accomplishing.
This facility is a reminder that there is much more to this area, than just music shows and shopping options.

This is the best educational hour we spent in Branson. It allowed an up close look at the salmon hatchery process and grands loved feeding the salmon!

This was really neat, there’s an eight minute movie that tells you everything you need to know about breeding fish. We took a toddler and two dollars worth of food later. He was very happy. I would suggest bringing something to hold the food in as it does get a little hard to hold in . hands.

What a fun little gem! This place was really cool! We watched a short, very informative presentation. We saw the fish up close and even got to feed them.

We hadn't planned to stop here, but we ran across it by accident and decided to check it out; and we were glad we did. We learned about the process they go through to raise trout to release them in the area. It was very interesting. We got to see the raceways where the fish are "housed" until they are relesed, and they have a tank in the building that holds a decent number of fish so you can see them up close. Their short video describing their process was very interesting. We really enjoyed this stop, and it was a nice and relaxing visit there.

We really enjoyed visiting the fish hatchery and learning about how the lakes are stocked. The gentleman who played the video for us was very courteous and answered many questions for us. Be sure to take quarters to feed the fish!

How long should I plan for a visit? We have 3 kids, ages 7-2 if that helps.

1 hour, max maybe 30 minutes, if that. I saw the video, every trout pond, fed the fish, saw the aquarium from both outside and inside, and saw everything inside. If you plan on fishing or going on a trail, plan more time.

I know for sure they are open 9-4 weekdays, but Im not sure if they are open an hour earlier or later, weekends, or if they will be open during Nov and Dec because most places close in Dec until March.
