A brewery with a tasting bar within an unsuspecting industrial plaza complex off the beaten path. Friendly and helpful bartenders with ample indoor seating (picnic tables) to host a gathering of friends or small office staff (maybe less than 75). Beer Flight is recommended for newbies, the adventurous, or those sampling. Otherwise they should have a beer for even the most discerning. For those that don't take to beer, the cocktail offerings are also well worth the peek. Close enough to whatever your Colombia MO activities are, so don't skip it. Will be adding Bur Oak to our shopping list.

Great atmosphere, very good beer & just a fun overall brewery. We were dropping our child off at Mizzou & we always try local breweries when we travel. This was a good one. Cute cat roaming the place as well.

We have visited here many times and have always been happy, the beers are good and the help are pleasant. And we realize that they are pet friendly--hell, Clyde is the resident cat who walks across every surface, tables and bar, and has barfed up a hair ball while we were watching. But the last two visits had dogs off of their leashes walking around, last time being a large Mastiff type. We complained the first time, and the second time the same bartender was right there, speaking with clients as the dog walked by.
I'm afraid we will have to find another brewery. A month ago, this review would've been much different. The owners may find themselves cited by the Board of Health or public safety and their insurance company once bites and illness occur. (The complaint won't come from us, but it'll likely happen, with this new style of management.)

The beers are very high quality! The atmosphere is amazing and the staff is great. I recommend the Clyde's vanilla cream ale! But the Bob and Squirt is really good too. Frank's cream ale is really good, you won't be disappointed!

Local brewery with a great variety of beers on tap. Grab the seasonal while you can and enjoy the standard selections!
Fest Bier is a very light Octoberfest, not a typical marzen style. More lager-like. Porter is a solid beer, as is there standard brown ale known as Boone County Brown. Mango IPA is a good one even for those of us who aren’t IPA fans. Big Tree IPA was a flavorful IPA without the harsh or bitterness. All in all, there are plenty of options for everyone. Unlike some breweries that tend to lock themselves into a singular focus and flavor profile.
And for those with kids, this place is kid friendly with plenty of games for the whole family. All the space is indoors in their huge warehouse space. So heat or rain has little impact.

While working in Missouri I’ve visited multiple times during my stay. I love the raw industrial setting of the brewery. The crafts here are very tasty and are only five bucks a glass. From the soccer billiards to the corn hole, there is plenty of entertainment to keep you occupied. Be sure to ask the friendly bartender for a punch card so you can work your way towards a free t shirt. This is the place to sit and enjoy a brew, and if you find a beer you just can’t live without, you can take home cans too.

Saw a small sign for brewery while visiting a store, loved it. Located outside of Columbia area. Very friendly staff and able to sample before purchasing a glass. Noticed you can take your dog with you on a leash. They also have games for you to play, it would be fun to go in a group. Would go back again!

A hidden gem! Jordan was amazing behind the bar. The beer was excellent, Franks is my favorite. I will for sure be coming back. The event space is great.

What a great time! A group of us made the trek from St Louis to Columbia & enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Bur Oak! Small, intimate tap room, with seating for @ 20. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable & makes your visit fun! From the tap room, you can go out into the warehouse space. In addition to all the brewing equipment, there are picnic tables & games, like soccer ball billiards, corn toss, etc. Bring your own munchies & relax & play in the warehouse! On the weekend, later in the day, food trucks arrived - smelled excellent! We took the tour too, which was very interesting. Of course, considering it was mid-July in Missouri, the highlight was the visit to their industrial storage freezer! Excellent beer, friends & a fun day! I definitely recommend it!

Went there for the brewery tour and to sample their beers. Very reasonably priced sampler flight. I wished they offered samples also individually priced in addition to a flight of four.
The approximately 45-minute tour was good showing the neat brewery. A nice touch was that the brewery dog accompanied the tour and was very friendly.
The staff in the tap room is very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the types of beers they make. Surprisingly, they did not have a printed menu of their beers. No food available except for some snacks. A place worth visiting for craft beers.
