A great picture opportunity to record our Route 66 drive through Missouri.
The young lady was friendly and we purchased a couple of items including snacks for that days drive and a Route 66 t-shirt.
The chair is obviously a great draw. It looks like you used to be able to climb up to it but I’m guessing HASAW put a stop to that.

The Missouri section on Old Route 66 brought us to some interesting places, including a renovated building that is now called the Route 66 Gourmet Popcorn but still displays the sign "Fanning Outpost General Store above its door. It is fully open and if you haven't been on their website to order some you can still pop in (sorry about the pun) and pick up a bag or two of the delicious freshly made popcorn to munch on the rest of your journey.
Also here at the end of the driveway beside the store is the a huge red rocking chair that is was known as the largest rocking chair in the world. This chair stands over 40 feet tall and it used to actually rock but now for safety reasons the base has been welded to the ground and it lost the distinction of being the biggest to another chair in Casey, Illinois. It is still however, the biggest chair on Route 66 and the Fanning 66 Outpost is a good place to stop for photos.

Came to see the Red Rocker and also visited the lovely shop.
Sampled various homemade popcorn and bought some with dill.
Sat outside on hay bales drinking, eating and watching no cars go by.
Very helpful lady in the shop

We were just cruising 66 and we saw the huge chair! How could we have not planned for this? This is a great photo opportunity and they have a pretty cool selection of sodas, candies, route 66 collectibles, etc.
Definitely worth the stop!

Passing thru seeing some quick sites on Route 66! Well worth the stop and a chance to stretch your legs! Nice party store there as well 👍🏼

Stopped here to stretch my legs on the way to St Louis. Cute little spot with nice staff. They have Route 66 items, candy and a large variety of sodas.

Just outside of Cuba, you'll find this motorcycle hangout and store - with the rocking chair overseeing all the activity. Worth a stop for a photo op.

Was in debate to stop here to take a photo of the world's second largest rocking chair. I mean, do I need photos of the seconds or just the firsts? Saw the murals on the building and decided it was worth the photo stop. Curiosity piqued, went inside and glad we did. Excellent for stocking up on snacks if you're not afraid of a sugar coma. The front part of the store is geared towards Route 66 tourists, the back part is geared for locals and their needs. Once you've left the t-shirts and have reached kitchen items, you've left the tourist zone. The front part has a nice selection of carbonated sugary beverages as well as flavored popcorn. (Brands and flavors you would not expect to find outside of a big city store.) Best part, you can sample the popcorn before you make a decision. We didn't even ask for the prices--we just bought what our taste buds liked. Perhaps a few less sugary options would be nice. Maybe they're there. Too many flavors that I could have missed them! There are some souvenirs and novelty items as well but some of those shelves are not as well stocked. Bathroom signs are funny. Owners must be hilarious. (I marked travelled as solo because there's no family option w/o children. Some of us drive around our senior parents. That's family last time I checked.)

Great little shop on Route 66. Popcorn is fantastic and they have lots of unique pops to try and candy as well. Shop sits right next to the world's largest rocking chair, which is a neat sight as well.
