Was a good 2h trip. We were able to see pretty much all the animals and probably got lucky. Penguins, sea lions, seals and some birds.
Basically a real tour trip. You should be aware of that. We were one of the first boats, I would definitely recommend that.

We chose Terra Quechua Peru as our travel agency, thanks to the recommendations we received about their attention and organization. The highlight of the trip was the visit to the Ballestas Islands, where we were able to observe sea lions, guano birds and penguins in their natural habitat. The guide provided us with fascinating information about the fauna and geography of the place, which enriched our experience.
In addition to the islands, we enjoyed a tour of the wine and pisco cellars in Ica. Finally, we spent some time in Huacachina, where the breathtaking sunsets over the dunes were the highlight of our trip. This getaway has been one of our best family experiences, and I definitely recommend visiting Paracas and the surrounding area. Do not hesitate to contact Terra Quechua Peru to make your trip unforgettable.

We visited Islas Ballestas as part of the Inca Tour group. It was the first highlight of the tour and the tour guide provided enhanced the experience with his knowledge. The views are breathtaking and it is a must for animal lovers. The boat tour provides many stopover points to photograph penguins, birds and the loveable seals. This is a must-visit and the pictures alone provide the review.

We took the SMALL GROUP BALLESTAS ISLANDS TOUR from the pier of the
Paracas resort hotel at 8am. The tour is fine, you go through the geoglyph of the candlestick and the Guide explanations are very complete and interesting BUT in AUGUST 2024 we saw VERY FEW Humboldt penguins (x5) and sea lions (x3). It's NOT like the pictures. Of course, birds, whatever you want and more. We also liked that although all tours go to the same place at the same time it is not overwhelming for the environment or animals. Maximum we matched 2 boats at a time in the same place. And as other opinions say, it's cold, go warm.

Through Waman adventurea and Eduardo (eduardito_sinfronteras@hotmail.com) we had a wonderful day in Paracas! Eduardo was extremely helpful, knowledgable and share also very moving and insightful personal stories. He was on time, he had a safe driver and we had a very enjoyable day, on the speedboat to Isala Ballestas, our Pisco refinery tour, lunch and the Huacachina Buggy Desert tour! We highly recommend Eduardo if you are considering a couple of days in Paracas, you will not be disappointed!!

We enjoyed a rocky boat trip to the islands. We saw some ancient carving on a sand dune as we made our way to the islands. We saw some penguins which was a real highlight, along with sealions and countless amounts of birds. Definitely worth a trip if you are in the area.

It's a good ride. I recommend it, but it is important to keep the recommendations in mind. Go by big boat. It is very cold, especially in winter, so it is important to cover well. The number of animals varies greatly according to what nature has intended, you do not see as many animals as the photographs offer you the trip. One or two sea lions and about 10 penguins. Each trip may vary. Luck plays an important role and must be taken into account. It is about 30 minutes to the island, 10 minutes to see animals and 30 minutes to return.

Hola, el ingreso está permitido a los niños mayores de 1 año de edad con la supervisión del padre o algún adulto. Mientras que los niños menores de 1 año de edad no pueden participar en la excursión por motivos de seguridad.

Hola, actualmente no esta permitido el ingreso de mascotas como perros o gatos al área natural, pero tienes la opción de dejar a tu mascota en el hotel o agencia donde contrataste el tour.

I do not know. I stayed in Paracas for three nights. If there is such a tour exists, the drive in and out of Lima is extremely bad which will make for a very long day.

Hola!! El tour a Ballestas lo contraté por internet en la web de Viajes Picaflor. El que yo hice fue full day, incluía la excursión en lancha a las Ballestas (impresionante), tubulares en el oasis de Huacachina (muy divertido) y degustación de piscos. El bus era super cómodo. Me costó 165 soles. Más o menos 50€ por persona. Las Ballestas solo eran 89 soles unos 25€ aprox. La oficina física la tenían en Av. José Pardo en Miraflores, 620. Prepara una cámara y sujetala bien que se puede caer!!

I was very conservative with rain coverings for my camera gear. I can only recall one moment where some droplets entered the boat but that happened when the boat is traveling at high speed towards the islands or the other way around. At the islands, you are going around very slowly. When I was there, the waters were very calm so I and my camera gear did not get wet. It depends on the conditions. You may want to grab a shower cap from the hotel and use it as a cover just in case.

Hi, which are the boats' timetables in August?
I will arrive in Paracas not earlier than 10.30AM as I will land the same morning in Lima, and I am seeing online that the boats are only at 8 and 10AM. Any experience?

Hello, the scheduled departures are 8 am and 10am. the port is open until 1pm (unless there is rough sea or stormy winds). After 10am there have to be enough people for another boat. Usually latest until 1pm one more boat will be ready to go.
