During the guided tour, the guide talks about different hypotheses for the chandelier. However, the fact is that they don't know its origins. Anyway, the drawing is cool.

Beautiful geoglyph on the side of a mountain, it can only be seen from a boat that goes on an excursion to Ballestas Islands. Of unknown origin...it is believed to point towards the sacred city of Cahuachi (Nazca)

Paracas is an industrial port that provides access to the Paracas National Reserve. The reserve is an unspoiled desert kingdom of sea lions, sea birds, Peruvian guanay and pelican as well as other ocean dwellers. Paracas Bay is the departure point for boat tours to the Ballestas Islands. When we visited, there were lines of locals and visitors waiting their turn. We are on a tour and had reservations where we did not have to wait in line.
On the boat ride over, we passed the El Candelabro geoglyph etched in a mountainside on the Paracas Peninsula. It looks like a candelabra and has acquired the nickname of “The Candelabra of the Andes”. It is 700 feet high and etched to a depth of 2 feet. According to local legend, the candelabra represents the lightning rod of the god Viracocha, god of the sun and of storms. Nobody knows for sure who did it or why.

The boat ride is very entertaining and the sighting of "El Candelabro" and the marine animals as well as the rock formations, simply an unforgettable experience. Our captain, also very skilled, made us go through several rings in the waves, which was like being on a roller coaster. Very fun and recommended experience.

It is not known who drew this shape in the sand or what it really represents. It is an interrogative curiosity. There is no dedicated excursion to see it, it is on the route to the Ballestas Islands (Or Isla Blanca if the Ballestas are closed to visits due to bad weather) So you will inevitably pass by it during your stroll in sea.

As our ship was leaving General San Martin, our captain sailed past the Candelabra and stopped so we can take many photos. Very fascinating to see this. The Candelabra is close to 600 feet high. The age of the candelabra is unknown and there are many stories floating around as to what its purpose is. If you are not on a cruise, you can take a boat tour to view, and I would recommend doing this.

Very nice place just like an introduction on the way to the wildlife islands reservation which is nearby. Also, it is a kinda preparation before the experience over the Nasca lines flight. All of these places are interesting and worthy to visit anytime. The port is a small town where is enough of any opportunities. Thank you 🤩
